Mercury in Aries vs Mercury in Libra With Mars Involved: Piece Of Coitus

Astrology in real life

trochoidal.jpg“I was working on my trochoidal today,” the soldier said.

“Coitus?”

“Trochoidal. My trochoidal.”

“You were working on your coitus you say?” I asked with a grin.

“It’s a calculation,” he said.

“Hmm. So is the trochoidal a machine… is it a piece of machine or is it a piece of math?”

He laughed. “It’s a piece of math.”

“Yeah, that would have been my guess. How’s your dinner anyway?”

Open Question: Astrology And Your Birthday - The Solar Return Chart

Astrology in real life

happy_birthday_balloon.jpgA solar return chart is cast for the day and time the Sun (solar) returns to the exact place it was when you were born. Generally this occurs on your birthday but on occasion it happens the day before or the day after. Although I know of one notable exception most astrologers feel these charts are useful in providing a map of the year ahead.

I fall in the group who uses a solar return chart but not in the group who travels on their birthday to affect the year ahead. Yes, some people feel you can manipulate your experience by spending your birthday in a specific location so the planets fall into the houses (areas of life experience) you prefer.

Calling All Astrology Bloggers: Update On The New Astro News

Outtakes and various other sundries

big-newsboy.jpgWoke up this morning to find the new Astro News in disarray but HQ and his brother have defeated most the problems - Check it out!

There is also a tab on top this blog now, as well as the widget in the right margin. Please help yourself to one of those if you would like to support the new site. Text links would also be greatly appreciate.

Also note the Astro News is still in progress. Things like the comments to this blog won’t be visible on the final product and there is one major problem not yet solved - None of the feeds from blogspot blogs are showing up.

Now we will solve this eventually (and hopefully quickly) but if you are an astrology blogger using blogspot and have an alternative rss feed, please email it to me and I will change you out.

Outside of that there are some design changes planned so please keep an eye on our progress and feel free to offer any ideas or suggestions. I have to brag again (in 9th house Mars Mercury style) about the speed of this thing. Updates are fast and furious, you’ll love it Thanks everyone!!!

Open Question: Astrology And Literature - Are Characters Beloved Because They Correspond To Universal Archetypes?

Ask the collective

snape.jpgA reader writes:
“Are our most beloved literary characters beloved because they correspond to the universal purpose of astrology? Last summer, in the midst of Harry Potter mania, I saw a list someone had compiled of the various birthdays of the characters. They all seemed to match very well. For example, I couldn’t imagine Snape as anything but a Capricorn. And would Harry be “the boy who lived” if he wasn’t a Leo?

My latest book is Anne of Green Gables. While listening the other day, and hearing the imaginative, dreamy ramblings of the main character Anne, I told myself that I would be shocked, shocked if she were anything but a Pisces. Within 5 minutes, the Anne character said that she had just turned 11 in March. More likely than not that the character is Pisces.

I think that the characters we love most resonate with the unconscious knowledge that we all have about what traits are believable. What do you think?

Astrology, News And Publishing Post Pluto’s Transit Of Sagittarius

Astrology in real life

obama.jpgThis morning I updated the soldier on the news around Obama’s choice for Vice President. As I mentioned, we both think the choice of VP is going to be critical in the election.

“Hilary does not seem to be on the screen at all,” I said. “As to what is being reported.”

“Hmm.”

“Thing is, we really have no idea what is going on. They do not report in actual news. The job is to put something up there that provokes people, and whether or not it’s based in reality is irrelevant. Just churn something out and next day, do it again. It’s come to a point where it’s pointless to read the news, it’s pretty much meaningless.”

“It’s as bad here as it has been in the UK and their press is notorious…”

This is where I think we are post Pluto’s rout through journalism (Sagittarius). There is no way to get real news at the moment. There is no standard, ethics or any other damned thing.

Do you agree or no? Is there a news source you trust? (And by the way, who is your pick for VP to Obama?)

1 Minute Astrology - Saturn Opposing Uranus: How Oppositions Work In Real Life

1 minute astrology

Saturn will be opposing Uranus this year - astrologers will be talking. Here is a real life example of what you can expect to see.

This also illustrates how pointing fingers is pointless when dealing with an opposition whether it be in the sky, in your chart or something formed in synastry because the positions are always interchangeable as described in this case of the stupid woman vs the group.

Astrology Around The Web: This Week’s Horoscopes by Caeriel Crestin

Outtakes and various other sundries

virgoThis Week’s Horoscopes by Caeriel Crestin

Caeriel writes:

Virgo - You hate being a hardass. You avoid having to tell people the harsh truth or make difficult, unpleasant decisions. This is one of the reasons you’re happy to leave someone else in charge and just do all the labor to make their ventures successful. Sometimes, however, you’re stuck doing this kind of dirty work, too, and must let someone know they’re being cut because of poor performance. “Why me?” you may wail, but you already know. It’s because you’re simultaneously kind and effective. You’ll get the job done, but in a much more compassionate way than anyone else would. You can’t shirk dishing out the “killing blow,” but at least you can make it as swift and painless as possible.

Wants an Amicable Divorce: Astrology-Based Advice

Hi Elsa,

I am going through a divorce and would like to settle things as amicably as possible? Any suggestions?

Good Intentions
United States

libra ebayDear Good,

Yes! Your Moon is in Libra, the sign of balance so you inherently know what is fair. That’s a help, but Libra can also be subtly controlling which can definitely piss people off.

It’s up to you but knowing what is “fair”, you might consciously decide to let your partner have slightly more than s/he is entitled to, for the sake of peace and ease of negotiations. This might not be the easiest thing, but it’s doable if you think in terms of transcendence.

Many people spend their lives locked in conflict with an ex. To me this seems a perfect horror and a waste of a person’s time and energy on this planet. If you feel similar you can see how giving up a little more than what is fair is a bargain in the long run.

Supporting this tack is Neptune transiting your seventh house (relationships). Neptune is concerned with what is good for “all”. It suggests you can be soft and yielding in negotiations, trusting that what you give will come back to you… in spades.

Good luck.
