Movie Review: A Pisces Take On Love And Wall-E
Outtakes and various other sundries

I saw Wall-E this morning, the Pixar movie about the little robot. It’s a love story, possibly the best I’ve ever seen. All you need to know about being a lover you can learn from Wall-E.
There’s nothing special about Wall-E on the outside. He’s battered and dirty but he does the best with what he’s got. When he falls in love with the slick, beautiful probe robot she doesn’t give him a second look. She even tries to blow him up. But what he does is he keeps on bravely being himself. He’s not trying to impress her; he’s trying to PLEASE her. He’s trying to give her any and everything he can think of. In the end she realizes he’s done nothing but show pure love and loyalty all along, and he wins her. Damned if you don’t feel like he completely deserves her and she sure as hell sees his worth. He’s shown himself as a pure soul.
He gives her pure, Neptunian love.
All my life I’ve given love short shrift. I gave conditional love, just as much as I thought a person deserved, given the way they
treated me. I recently decided this doesn’t work. I think, well, I really BELIEVE (Pisces) you get what you give.
Do you have someone that you love, someone that you believe in? I’ve learned that if you’re with someone you have to completely embrace who they are or forget about it. Of course “he didn’t call” is completely different from “he punched me in the face.” So he didn’t call. Do you love him? Is it worth being unhappy over? Seriously, do you really want to choose to be unhappy? Let it go. Is he worth it? Let it go. You’ve got to give that free pass to get one. And you’ve got to give it without expecting to get one in return.
We’ve all got Neptune/12th House/Pisces in our charts. I think we all want love. I’m thinking we can all access that pure love in our own way. We do, in some measure, don’t we– any time we’re kind for no reason, any time someone does us dirty and we just let it go? It feels gooood to experience pure love, even if you’re the only one giving it. I can almost feel my heart grow every time I work it, every time I work at being deserving of love by being the love I want.
And if it doesn’t work out after all that you can always punch him in the face later.
I suspect this expresses everything I just said, but in fewer words:

Elsa, I loved that video! That’s what I’m talkin’ about, that kind of love, where someone takes someone the way they are. Thanks for putting it up here for us.
And like you, I’ve tried to love conditionally, and it’s never worked. “I’ll love you this much, as long as you love me the same way.” It’s like a contract, a silent, one-sided contract I have projected on those that I’ve loved. Big mistake.
My children taught me what unconditional love means, they gave me the clues and showed me what it looks like. They have always been my best teachers.
And doublepisces-n-thensome: I hear you on the painful part of loving so deeply, and for what it’s worth, here’s what I do: have a damn good cry every so often, let it out, then accept things as they are, let go, and make myself move on. I also pray and wash myself (body, mind, spirit) off with water. I find it tremendously helpful in the letting-go part.
Pisces in 5th house.
I’m gonna run right out and see this movie as soon as I can. That’s cool, the part about pleasing vs. impressing, it makes someone more grounded and real. I am putting a lot of love right now into making a year book for my son’s fourth grade class. It’s not a boyfriend, but I feel my heart growing.
Oh, yeah, huh. I need to pay closer attention.
Good job Satori.
Satori - I loved the whole thing! I have a Pisces Asc. and in other places as well. I really have a lot of love to share, and if I can’t share it with people, it starts leaking out of me all over the place.
I loved this blog. Thanks Satori!
We all need some of this kind of love in our lives. It sustains us.

Sounds like WALL E has Venus In Libra ![]()
thanks, really. for some reason this was hard for me to write. when I wear my heart on my sleeve I usually cover it up with a cardigan.
Oh I loved it too. I posted a link to it on one of the boards I read. I’ve been struggling lately in my relationship mostly over mundane frustrations. The love is strong and this was nice validation of the resolution I had just come to when I read it.
darn, a peach but not a nice shiny chicken!
so how does that work for you, Satori?…the whole cardigan, sleeve thing? LOL
not so well, acturely, but I’m working on letting my freak flag fly. baby steps. ![]()
well, baby steps are good, right?
I think so! ![]()
Hahahahhahaha!!! Maybe its just the hangover, but I was reading this going ‘Thats all very well but I don’t think I can actually live it . . I’d like to live it, but I don’t know if I could’
And then I got to
“And if it doesn’t work out after all that you can always punch him in the face later.”
Maybe I can do it after all.
Beautiful written satori. Loved this post. I always feel this way with even with those who dont feel the same way back. Im glad for being in love and doing things for them though that love wont be returned. Mars Neptune conjunction & Pisces ASC
thanks, satori, for this great piece.
for people who can’t open the youtube link, that’s Ingrid Michaelson singing The Way I Am.
Thanks for sharing this, Satori. This was a lovely piece.
A good reminder for me today. I was feeling some frustration directed at somebody I love, and it felt lousey for both of us. It’s not really about “right” or “wrong.” I know what makes me happy, and it’s letting stuff that doesn’t really count go when the stuff that does really count is right.
Peace out.
Wall-E totally looks like the robot from “Short Circuit”… minus the cheesy 80’s style of course
Satori, I just found this in the tags and had to let you know how beautiful it is. My son is a Pisces and he LOVES Wall-E. Now I understand why. And now I also understand his love of The Little Prince. Thankyou.
THANK you! omigod, The Little Prince and his tamed fox, ::heartthumps:: I totally categorize people on whether or not they’d think the drawing was a hat.
AAh Satori!! So does he!! He does the drawing and goes round asking people what they think it is!
I loved WALL-E as a 12th house libra with pisces ruling my 5th. Went with a pisces who has saturn in virgo opposing his sun with virgo ruling his 5th and it didn’t affect him the same way lol. Now that I notice he was more affected by romantic loss or coming together after struggle.. something I don’t find romantic at all lol. Athough he was more WALL-E like when we met which is what won me over.

I have a ton of Pisces in my chart and am happiest when Im being true to myself and hopelessly in love with the world– giving whatever it is I have to give. There is a painful side to this as well, though. There is something painful about loving so deeply, and I haven’t quite figured out what to do with this. I know that turning away from the love is not an option for me though.
