Open Question - Competition In The Workplace: Astrology-Based Advice

Open question

teacher chart

Dear Elsa,

How do you deal with a friend who’s suddenly become competitive in the workplace? Recently we were both helping a student with a question, and afterward, she accused me of trying to make her feel stupid (the student had finally gotten the right answer from me).

I was shocked that she’d had such little self control to say that to me in front of students. She apologized later, but this behavior is carrying over into the daily interactions with other employees. Does one ignore or approach this one?

Teacher, I have lousy news for you.  Considering your chart I am afraid you are going to find people at work use you as their toilet as a matter of routine. Check this out:

You are competent, in control and have self-awareness. The person next to you lacks these qualities and guess who is going to be blamed? You.

My life long friend, Ben, has a chart similar to yours and have been teaching for 25 years. He is adored by the students and loathed my many if not most of his peers. They need to project their shadow and he is the screen.

You are in similar circumstance and I don’t think there is an easy answer or at least if there is, Ben has not found it and he is pretty damned smart.

I would say, live your life and maintain your integrity at all costs. If you want to confront, then confront. If you want to keep what you know to yourself then do that but I would not expect to ever be able to prevent people from dumping their garbage on you and in fact that is not your job.

Maintaining your composure is your job. Using your power responsibly is your job so I would focus on that rather than on them and let this dictate your behavior.

In Ben’s case, by and large he lets the people flail around him but if he’s got to so a slap down to maintain his own integrity then he does it.

Anyone else?

I have no advice but a question elsa about how you got your answer from this chart. Im asking for learning sake. Is it the sun mars conjunction in 12th in Cap and her Pluto on the MC?

Skye - that’s a good question. When you have as much Scorpio as this gal, you are always going to be someone’s toilet. That her Scorpio is in the 10th (as is Pluto) tells me that it will play in the workplace.

Her Sun in the 12th house hides the self and makes her easy to project upon and so they do.

Cap rising and all that scorp give her an intimidating presence - there is strong presentation and also the scorpio undertow (suck and repel)… so basically she unnerves people (no fault of her own) and becomes a figure, “If we can get rid of her, we won’t have a problem…”

Very difficult and painful way to go. She is basically someone people will shoot at no matter what she does - I know the feeling!

Thanks Elsa for that. I always read the advice columns but never actually look at the chart posted. I dont know why I did this time but yeah that totally make sense. Thanks. I think I had a processing issue. A brain hiccup.

BTW glad to hear that the soliders mum is home, keeping you in my thoughts for your daughters meeting.

That’s an interesting chart, thanks for posting. I feel for you. The field of education itself is like this anyway, especially higher ed, and I was totally nuked. I like Elsa’s advice ‘if you need to slap ‘em down to maintain your integrity, then slap em’ because that was one of my mistakes. I did not play office politics, therefore, it ended up playing me. Going off and trying to hide from the colleagues, like I did sometimes, … that did not work too well for me ;-).

One of the most interesting things in your chart from my perspective is the exact conjunction between Venus and Uranus, in Scorpio, separated by only 14 minutes.

If you care to share, does this play out by giving you wild swings in both your love life and your financial life, of maybe there is something weird or unique about one or both of those areas for you.

I know that’s a little off the topic, but I am always fascinated by conjunctions that are exact, or nearly exact.
