“Live Your Sun, Satisfy Your Moon” Who Has It Easy? Who Has It Not So Easy?

sun-moon.jpg# Carielle asks on Live Your Sun, Satisfy Your Moon:

“So when your Sun and your Moon are the same sign (in this case, Capricorn for both)…how does that work with this thought? I’m confused!”

Carielle - provided your Sun and Moon are in the same house and have the same aspects, living your sun will automatically satisfy your Moon which means you have it easier than most.

It is far more common the Sun and Moon in a chart do not relate or they may be in hard aspect or whatever so the majority of people have a greater challenge. Like this:

Sun and Moon conjunct? No problem
Sun and Moon in easy aspect? No problem
Sun and Moon in hard aspect? Difficulty
Sun and Moon unrelated? Also challenging

Just think of it like this: Sun in Taurus wants comfort, Moon in Scorpio wants intensity - what to do?
Or how about Sun in Pisces wants to sacrifice but Moon in Aries wants to kick ass.

These things are hard to resolve as compared to a situation like yours…

Sun in Capricorn wants to achieve, so does Moon in Capricorn - Hooray!

Ugh, my moon is not satisfied. BTW - so sun in pisces should always sacrafice? Maybe sun in pisces could dream instead. Or transcend.

  2. Jennifer says on 5/8/08 at 4:09 pm:

I have Sun and Moon inconjunct. That really explains it.

  3. Des says on 5/8/08 at 4:11 pm:

Wouldn’t Scorpio Sun Taurus moon be an opposition of sorts and therefor no problem? This is me so I guess i am biased. Just thought I’d check to make sure, and no it is not easy…

    You rang?

It is an opposition, by sign at least - a full moon. The question would be is how down on hard aspects between the sun and the moon one would be.

I personally do not take hard aspects like the Sun square the moon, or the Venus square Mars as being as dangerous and difficult in the same way as say, Venus opposite Uranus or Mars square Saturn.

    [’YMMV.’]

Mars square Saturn? What’s dangerous about it?
I can’t catch a break can I?? My charts begining to be a pain in the ass :)

Oh damn…and my sun is “sesquiquadrate” my moon. What the hell does that mean? It doesn’t even sound good.

  7. Amethyst says on 5/8/08 at 7:25 pm:

LOL, shell if I had to guess I’d say that means that a sasquatch is holding on to them both.

So, Satori, what the heck do you do with a Pisces Sun, Cap Moon? Mostly it just seems to suck. Mine is stuck in my 6th, and is opposed to Saturn on the cusp of my 12th…I tend to surprise unwary friends and colleagues a completely out-of-character authoritarian streak. Of course, I get put in charge of everything because I’m good at getting things done– then the Cap moon comes out (”Consensus? Excuse me? What’s that?”) It really bothers the Pisces Sun, because that just wants everyone to be happy…sheesh….

  9. Laura says on 5/8/08 at 7:32 pm:

(pardon, I meant “cusp of my 11th” there…it’s exactly .4 degrees away from being in my 12th)

  10. spinner says on 5/8/08 at 7:44 pm:

sesquiquadrate? Says Quick rehydrate. I suggest you drink lot’s of water.

  11. Amethyst says on 5/8/08 at 7:59 pm:

Laura and Satori, me too and that description Laura is very accurate. For me I see myself as being super polite and putting up with a lot to keep the peace and be nice, but my husband thinks I am bossy. I sure can be! Well, if something really needs to be done and other people are going to be wishy-washy then why not?

  12. satori says on 5/8/08 at 8:19 pm:

the way I see my pisces/cap presenting most is that anything I commit to doing– going to a play, going on a short trip with someone, etc.– I will almost invariably begin to dread and want to get out of. but I think my aries might be involved there (moon square venus). but I will definitely want to wiggle off the hook. caveat: HUGE exception– anything that might get me laid. ;)

I think the dual pisces nature tends to have us showing only one face (of two) at a time. some people think I’m so sweet, others have seen me be so responsible. I can be totally bossy and controlling but most people have no idea.

consensus? oh god, no, please. the pisces in me doesn’t want to be in charge, but the cap needs to be. I don’t suffer fools AT ALL. I do better if I’m in charge, then I can use my pisces to run things kindly. plus people can get away with far more with me if I’m in charge. odd, that.

“…if something really needs to be done and other people are going to be wishy-washy then why not?”

My sentiments exactly, lol! I just hate that I tend to be a bit of a steamroller sometimes. The Cap Moon (or my Cap moon, at least) doesn’t find it necessary to soften many blows. They’re being wishy-washy and impractical? I tend to tell them so, and then feel bad about it later. Especially since <i?I’m wishy-washy and impractical in most areas of life myself!

Id have to look to see whats conjunct what.. or what might be aspected.. however my sun is in Scorpio and my moon in Libra.. talk about being torn. Scorpio wants to rip peoples heads off, Libra wants to be rational.

  15. seekingzen says on 5/8/08 at 10:27 pm:

My moon seems to be satisfied by tormenting my sun. 8th house Aries sun, 5th house Cap moon. No relation. I hates it, I do!

  16. Des says on 5/8/08 at 10:48 pm:

Any recomendations for how to live your sun and satisfy your moon(mine seems to want to eat!)?

  17. Jessica says on 5/8/08 at 11:33 pm:

I think I’m okay with sun Libra and moon Gemini. I love someone though, who is Cancer Sun, and then poor thing, moon in Sagittarius. Craves security with a constant emotional need to seek freedom. What a nightmare of contradictions.

  18. Kingsley says on 5/8/08 at 11:49 pm:

I dunno. Moon and Sun in the same sign etc might look like a new moon Baby or perhaps a Balsamic one. Either way there is a degree of challenge involved between needs and wants. The search for identity may require quite a few transitions. An insatiable need to know “self” may lead to an interesting life. On the other hand the native may have degree of uncertainty about life and become proficiently active in sensing the next twist in their life.

When Mum and Dad (Sun and Moon in same sign) do things similarly or agreee with each other’s parenting strategies the child may sense less flexibility from their role models. They may tend towards feeling invisible and sense injustice in the world.

I guess it would depend on other role models such as grandparents and teachers (and the rest of the chart)to offer different and helpful viewpoints. The “invisible moon” child would better off by being seen and heard by parents.

Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Taurus.
I am saying that it was very very difficult because it signified for me that my parents were not getting along but not getting divorced either so life at home was uncomfortable in lack of better words and it takes a long time to understand and overcome that kind of influence in one’s life!

On a more practical level, my Sun in Aqu (9th) wants to travel all the time and my Moon in Tau (11th) wants to remain on the sofa, so when I travel, I do things to satisfy my Moon, like meeting good friends or eating what I want to eat, or trying not to stay at miserable places. There is always some degree of compromise required for hard aspects, for sure.

  20. Lexie says on 5/9/08 at 5:57 am:

My Taurus sun doesn’t necessarily like all the emotional crap my pisces moon loves, but it’s a give and take between some practicality in emotions and random overwhelming, loving passion.

  21. Jennifer says on 5/9/08 at 8:59 am:

Bwah, Jessica, I volunteer with a Sag Sun/Cancer Moon girl with the same issue. Has a stellium in Sag in the ninth house and Cancer moon is in the fourth… Poor girl! She seems to be working her Sag more often, I think- she has a long commute both to her job and to our volunteering shifts.
(Kind of funny, really, that 3 out of 5 people on my shift are Sag Suns, I’ve got the Sag moon, and the remaining girl is a Cancer Sun.)

Hmm, when it comes to me and travel, I spend my vacations uh, shopping and eating. I guess that resolves the two.

  22. Stephanie says on 5/9/08 at 11:08 am:

When I was younger my 5th House Aries Sun used to dominate everything. Lots of drama, adventures, and instability which drove my 2nd House Cappy Moon crazy. It took me a long time to understand that at heart I’m a homebody who needs security. Now I just party at home.

    LOL Amethyst and spinner!
