Cell Phone Wet? Dropped In The Toilet? The Alcohol Thing Works! This And Other Tips For The Frugal
Tips
This is my Saturn in Virgo tip:
If your cell phone gets wet… a little wet or even if it goes into the toilet or get washed in the washing machine, chances are it can be brought back to life. Just take the back off the phone, remove the SIM card and dip the whole thing in alcohol (I used 70% Isopropyl Alcohol not bourbon) and let it dry overnight. I left mine to dry a couple days but sure enough, I put the battery and the SIM card back in and it fired right up good as new.
Do you have a Saturn in Virgo tip for the frugal?

Yes.Just heard of this this past weekend.Fritos make for good kindling.Seriously.If you need to start a fire, light a Frito and it will burn true for about 2-3 min.
If you live in a climate where the temperature fluctuates, put gas in your car when the temp is colder, like in the morning. Gas is less expansive then & you’ll get more.
Guitar picks also make a crazy flame when lit.
Hubby got laid off today so this is timely. :/
fritos! cool!
I’ve been meaning to try this, but I’ve got TWO sinks in my bathroom and I can still use the other one… so there ya go:
drain cleaner– mix baking soda with vinegar
Hmmmmm………i really like the Frito’s one….i just got a fireplace!!!!
Frito’s - like the chip Frito’s?
1. Add sago to stews. Bulks them up considerably.
2. Add sugar to your roses. Makes them last longer.
3. Cheap, effective window cleaner - methylated spirits and newspaper….
i’ll think up some more…..
I did that not long ago! But I used sanitizer wipes, not alcohol. Worked like a charm!
Mildy stale bagels (and croissants) can be revived by twenty - thirty seconds in the microwave.
If you are tired of a cardigan or a jacket, but it’s still in good condition try replacing the buttons . . you can usually grab buttons at the dollar store and if you hate sewing yourself, tailors will sometimes do it for cheap (my place charges me $2 a button and less if I bring in my alterations at the same time {I’m short! so all my pants also need to be short!})
Actually, most services are somewhat negotiable. I have a regular place for my alterations, and a regular place for my shoe repairs, and I find if I’m bringing in three + pairs of pants, or three + pairs of shoes, often they’ll cut me a deal.
If’n you’re single find a friend you can split things with. There’s like 50c difference between a half dozen and a full dozen eggs at my supermarket, and I have never inmy life used a full thing of celery. I go grocery shopping with my ex-roomates and we often split bread, vegetables, and eggs.
Oh! And wash all your businessy clothes inside out and dry on medium, it cuts down on wear and fraying.
Stale white bread - grate it into bread crumbs, mix in some grated parmesan or romano cheese, add some pepper. Then make a nice dish of spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and red pepper flakes. Sprinkle on the bread crumb mix and stick the dish of pasta under the broiler until the bread crumbs brown. So good.
Baking soda and/or white vinegar can clean anything.
You can clean the rack on your BBQ grill with a crumpled piece of aluminum foil. No water or chemicals needed.
