I never finished writing about the big fight I had with the soldier and the truck wash and the gay man and the blonde but we were talking about it a couple days ago. Mercury (communication) in aspect to Saturn creates difficulties in this arena.

If you have this in your chart you may feel something is wrong with how you converse. The soldier has these planets in aspect along with Mars (that’s the fight part) but we also have Mars, Mercury and Saturn mashed up between our charts so this is always, always our number one challenge and actually the only one we face…

“Why do we fight like we do?” he asked.

“I don’t know. I have a really hard time communicating with you. I just struggle sometimes.”

“Well, P, it’s because I’m stupid.”

“Oh for Godsakes.”

No, I am stupid. I just don’t know what you’re talking about sometimes. Like that last fight. I was listening but I just had no idea what you were talking about.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me. I thought that was the best… that was the clearest I have ever communicated the problem in our lives.”

“Yeah, well I just didn’t understand. I can’t understand what you’re telling me and the reason is stupidity.”

“Can’t be.”

“It can and it is. That last fight was no different then when we were fighting about you getting on the motorcycle on our second date.”

“How?”

“Well you were saying all this stuff and I didn’t know what the hell you were talking about. You were talking about women and orgasms. I didn’t know anything about that! What did I know about how women have orgasms? You had to show me all that. It was you taught me all about that. I didn’t know the first thing about it when I met you and here you are going on and on. What the hell is she talking about I wondered. What is she saying? I’m sure it’s interesting but I don’t understand a word of it.”

“Um…”

“Yeah, P. 2 weeks later you had shown me some things. You taught me about sex and I put it together. This, that, the motorcycle, vibration… oh that’s what she meant. I figured it out in about 2 weeks. That’s how long it took me because I’m dumb. Your boyfriend is dumb, P. He’s a dumbass.”

No response.

“So you shouldn’t be surprised when there is a 2 week delay in me figuring things out. We should consider that normal. It’s normal between us. Look P. I almost died eating peanut butter. I’d never seen the shit. I didn’t know what peanut butter was. What’s this? I didn’t know so I filled my mouth completely full of it and almost died like that, choking to death. Is that not stupid? And I put that whole Alka Seltzer in my mouth that time thinking it was an aspirin. That almost killed me too; at least I thought I was dying with all this foam coming out my mouth.”

I laughed.

“Yeah, the dumbass puts a whole Alka Seltzer in his mouth. Who does this shit? Nobody! Everybody knows what peanut butter is, everybody but me. So I’m just saying if I can figure out what you’re talking about within 2 weeks, well that’s pretty good. We should just accept this and try to be all right with it. Because besides sheer stupidity, I just speak too many languages and between the two of these things I just can’t do any better. I am not from here. I come from another country and I come from a farm and there are all kinds of things I don’t know just like I didn’t know about women and their orgasms when I was 19. Most 19 year olds probably knew something about that but I did not. So this is what I think the problem is. Your boyfriend is stupid and you just don’t know it.”

I was talking to a pal about this the other day and was stunned when she confided she has the same problem.  She grew up speaking another language with various frills and to this day she struggles to communicate.  I have a feeling this is more common than people think. Is it?  Do you have Mercury and Saturn in aspect?
