Swearing below the break

Thinking about all this punching or potential ass-stomping into the ground in the men’s locker room at my gym, I decided I wanted more information…

“So what do men say about women in locker rooms?” I asked the soldier.

“Oh, they say all kinds of shit,” he said.

“Like what?”

“I’d like to fuck her. Wonder how she fucks. Wonder if she gives a good blow job. Wonder if she’ll let you double team her… they say stuff like that.”

“I see.”

“Yeah and then they lie. There is always a liar around.”

“What’s he say?”

“He says he’s done all that stuff. Whoever they’re talking about he claims to have fucked her… fucked her many times and then he starts talking about it. She’s like this and she did that or she did this.”

I tried not to look like a school marm but I’m sure I failed. “Well I’ve been thinking about you punching someone in there,” I said.

“Why? Why are you thinking about that?” he asked.

“Because I know you might.”

“Yeah, I might. I might punch a motherfucker in there if he’s talkin’.”

“I know. So I thought I should figure out how I felt about it just in case.”

“And?”

“Well I don’t like hitting but there is nothing I can do about what you may or may not do.”

“That’s right.”

“Yeah and I decided since I’ve never worried about what went on in the men’s locker room before, I ought to just stick it. It’s really none of my business what men are doing in their locker room. So if you’re going to punch someone in there, well I can’t see why that should be my business if I am not going to worry about what the other men do.”

“That’s right and it is none of your business. It’s men’s business so you’ve no need to worry about it at all. I don’t see why you would.”

Later I was talking to my pal. I had drawn my conclusion…

“It’s strange because I would have never thought I’d be advocating violence but fact of the matter, what is he supposed to do if someone is in the locker room talking about the blow job I gave them that I never gave them? What do I want him to do? Do I want him to shrug? Should he join in and talk about me too? He may as well punch them and I’ll tell you what this brought to mind.”

“What?”

“Remember when I wrote about Angela Davis? I saw her speak and she said men should be on the front lines fighting against rape and I agree. I have always loathed the idea that a man can beat his wife and other men will play basketball with him the next day. What is that? They are sanctioning violence against women as far as I am concerned.”

“They are.”

Right, so here is a man who is actually going to stand up for a woman in a locker room and I’m supposed to stop him? I’m not going to stop him. I can’t stop him anyway. I’m not in the men’s locker room so I’m not even going to worry about this. Talk about me and get your nose broken? Get your jaw broken? Oh well. It’s about time a man stood up for a woman and further, I trust his judgment.”

“So do I.”

“Yeah, he’s not going to punch unless it’s justified. I trust him completely on that front so if he goes to jail, I’ll just go pick him up is all. Nothing to him and it’s nothing to me either. I am more than happy to be a partner in crime, I think I was born for it actually and I know I was in bred. But in whatever case I am glad I figured this out. I know what I am going to do and not do now (Saturn/boundaries) and as far as I am concerned this is the end of this story.”
