Finishing his workout, Coffee Date got off his machine and headed in another direction without engaging. I was relieved and chastised myself for worrying about it in the first place. He doesn’t talk to me all that often anyway.

Relaxing, I turned sideways on the cross trainer the way I liked to just as the hairdresser I mention sometimes got on a cross trainer 2 doors down from mine.

This is the gal who has put on all the weight recently for reasons I couldn’t begin to ask but we’re friendly and I wondered if I shouldn’t introduce the soldier when he came by on the way to the pool.

See, we were there at my regular time this day and this would have been the first natural occurring opportunity to introduce him to someone I knew and while it did not seem imperative I pretty much decided this is what I would do. See how normal I am? It’s not really normal because when we were kids I introduced the soldier to basically NO ONE in 3 years and just as I decided that, here comes Jesse the Sagittarian!

Jesse gets on the cross trainer next to me and starts talking loudly the way he does… and laughing. Having never seen me with a man in his life it would not have occurred to him there might be a smoldering soldier lurking behind him but it sure as hell occurred to me. But it was much worse than that.

See, I was turned sideways on the cross trainer as I am 2/3 of the time. And the cross trainers are placed in a row, you can imagine. So it was all normal except for two things.

One, they were replacing the floor in the gym that day so that had the machines all smushed close together so they could work on 1/3 the floor space in there and two, I had just recently been informed that what I was doing on the cross trainer was akin to a striptease so are you getting the picture here?

Jesse is on a cross trainer, and my ass is facing him. It is very close proximity because of the floor and he is telling me jokes and laughing like a Sadge, throwing his head back and uh oh. Uhhhhhhhh oh. I just don’t think this looks so good if you’re the soldier.
