How Well Do You Know Your Land? Saturn Transiting My Land, The 8th House
Astrology in real life
I am in an acute phase today living every person’s nightmare. Chart ruler Saturn in Virgo is transiting stationary in my 8th house conjunct natal Pluto. The Moon in Pisces is involved and every scrap of me is engaged and firing on all cylinders.
The soldier, earlier today:
“The system doesn’t work. It would not be cohesive if you were not making it that way, telling them what to do. These people would have no idea what to do.”
“I know. I know that. Do you know what this has taken? It has taken my whole life. It has taken like… 40 years of study to be able to do this. I think it’s funny. Oh, we better ask her. Her, the one we were trashing last week? The one we jacked up ten days ago? Turns out she’s the only one who can get us out of here so best get her on the phone…”
From email to a pal - edited slightly to remove my shorthand:
“…and Elsa P gets even smarter about these things. Someday someone will write an advice question, or come for a consult and won’t they be surprised that I know all about this stuff. I don’t just know a little, I am an expert almost beyond compare. I have said for many years, I am pretty sure my job is to map hell. I go to the depths so when someone shows up down there and they’re lost, I am able to tell them, “take a left here…a right over there and then jump the log…”
Someone has to do this job. I am very glad and proud to be so good at it. Pretty much whatever part of hell you find yourself in, I’m aware of it and I can help. In fact, I can often get you out in 5 seconds; this is how well I know my land.”
How well do you know your land?

Elsa, did you ever get my email request for a consult? Just curious.
I’m confident I know my spiritual/emotional land pretty well, getting better all the time (to quote Lennon) but the physical world. interacting on the physical plane? Different story. I’m pretty much in the process of ‘waking myself up’ and thankfully I have fantastic teachers to help me–you inculded, Elsa. Thank you for everything you are willing to share, I appreciate your generosity of spirit very much.
kashmiri - no, I got no request. ?? And you’re very welcome for whatever you get off this blog, it is meant to be food.
i need to figure out where my land is (neptune fourth house cusp :P)
but i do seem to know some things pretty well. i just have a difficult time figuring out what’s common knowledge and what isn’t. and thus what i actually have a corner of the market on. seems odd.
you do lay out some good maps. i guess every place needs it’s road markers but… i wouldn’t want to ask anyone to have to navigate that territory.
You know your land very well Elsa and it amazes me that you are able to be so consistently well versed under the emotional strains you carry. Totally admirable and thanks for the varied and interesting menu of morsels. I know my map but not sure i’ll ever be a landowner as such, i’m too inconsistent. I just rent.
Z - thank you very much. It’s about time I took credit for this, I think. Plus current circumstances have demanded I not play dumb. It is as if I have been called up to state what I know as a matter of responsibility and to flinch at this point… well the repercussions could be very severe and I would have culpability. It’s very much, speak up and suffer the consequences or don’t speak up and suffer even worse consequences, and consequences that ripple out and hurt other people.
I second Z’s post. Thank you, Elsa, for all that you do for those of us navigating this life with banged up compasses….or just Neptune in the 1st!
I cannot see myself clearly!
I am always using eveyone else’s eyeglass to asess my landscape. I’m gettin’ too old for this nonsense.
Dear Elsa,
I would love it if you could do a reading for me. Please let me know how much, thank you.
