Astrology and Currency: Venus, Love and Money - What Do You Want For Christmas?

1 Minute Astrology: Venus, Love and Money - What’s Your Currency?
Elsa blog tag - currency
I have Venus (values) square Neptune (ethereal) and Pisces (more Neptune) on the 2nd house (values) and so it plays in this way…
“Yes, I understand your position on this,” I told the soldier. “It’s just that my position is different. I am telling you, I get it. In your case a Christmas present that is some sort of tangible goods is appropriate. It’s useful and has value to you but in my case it doesn’t work like that. In fact, it makes no sense at all.”
“It makes sense to me,” he said.
“I know, but we’re not talking about you. I think of things in terms of energy and money is a form of energy but it is only one form as is tangible goods or whatever. And although a lot of people value energy in these forms not everyone does. I know I don’t. Look. I give you a potato for Christmas and you give me back a potato. What’s the sense of that? You’re the one who likes potatoes! I like something else,” I said.
“P…”
“Well just listen to me. This last week I went through an intense crisis and I called you many times. Every time I called, you picked up. Didn’t matter what you were doing, you picked up.”
“Yeah.”
“Okay, so what do you think that is worth to me? It’s invaluable to me. It’s priceless. It’s so valuable to me, nothing in this world could possibly compare so you see it’s your energy that means something to me. This is what I value, it’s obvious and undeniable. And I am sorry I am not interested in potatoes but all they do is take up space. They crowd me and do nothing for me. So if you want to get me a potato, if you insist then go ahead. But I would just as soon you forget about that and just hold my hand. You know. Do something with your body.”
“Oh my Lord, why can’t you just be a normal girl? One who likes candy and stuff?”
I laughed. “I am a normal girl and I do like candy. It’s just there are different kinds of candy, aren’t there?”
What do you value / want for Christmas? Where is your Venus?

Venus in Virgo….I want someone to hire a Molly Maid to catch me up on my cleaning. Or some more wine, so I could give a crap about how clean my house is.
In Scorpio.
I want peace of mind and spirit.
And I want people to be less greedy and more generous.
This is so nicely put, Elsa.
Another Venus (in Leo) square Neptune (in Scorpio) here. I’d like to be adored by at least one magi!
Venus in Gemini (7th house) Opposing Neptune in Sag (1st house). I want money! haha Actually I don’t want anything for myself. Just hope I can help those who are around me in some small way.
I like decorating for christmas but would rather pass on the gift giving part. Love the visuals of a fresh tree w/lights & pretty presents but to be honest, the whole gift giving thing drives me nuts! Exception is knitting little hats & mittens for my grandkids - that’s pure joy. Venus in Sagittarius
Shell! LOLLOLOLOL… you just made my day; thanks! My Venus is in Aries (trine Neptune) in the 3rd House. I want communication to be clear, to be honest and forthright and above all, kind. Failing that, I’d love a new camera as I no longer have one.
Well I asked my dad for these two books I want, told a bunch of people including my brother, not to get me anything, we could go for dinner or something, told two people in particular that I didn’t much care what they got me, but it had to be over twenty bucks each and it had to be a something, and that I better get something for my birthday too.
I have venus in sag the 12th, and generally stuff just gets in my way. I wanna go places and see stuff! and do Stuff! and feeling you love me is more important than anything you can buy me. But my moon is in virgo (in the eigth) and saturn is moving in, so I asked my dad (Capricorn, better as he ages but still pretty about the stuff) for practicalities, and I told the two friends who’ve been deadbeats (times two, because my birthday is right after christmas, and I mean they haven’t even come to the party!) that they had to (saturn) get me something real (saturn) because this year things mattered and if I walked away with nothing it was really going to make me sad.
I can totally relate to this conversation. Taurus with Venus in Gemini (me) talking to my Cancer with Venus in Cancer - square Neptune. I was talking to my SO the other night about retiring - and wondering if I could afford to retire early. I said “nobody ever took care of me but me, so I have to be careful”. When I saw the look on his face I backtracked and asked him if something happened would he take care of me? He smiled and said of course he would take care of me. When I told him that made me feel very secure, he looked like I just gave him the world. He has Venus square Neptune and he understands the gift of “energy”. Although he likes to get gifts, especially if they are thoughtful, what he really appreciates is the way I treat him, that I notice how he feels and that I’ve always got his back, so to speak. He loves that I truly love him just the way he is. In return he gives me the same. I was a little worried at first because I wondered sometimes if he really saw me - or just his “idea” of me. I’ve had to work at being sensitive to this and not just barging over his feelings (I have a lot of air and no water), but the payoff has been, as Elsa put it, priceless. I think I already have what I want for Christmas - him.
I want to get everyone else something they want, or need. I like being surprised, so any gifts are fine for me, I always feel bad getting gifts anyway, like I don’t deserve them. I have Venus in Scorpio square Jupiter in Leo, sextile Saturn in Virgo. Sometimes I over do it
I love giving and recieving gifts. To me it is a form of socializing. I am a leo with my venus in gemini at the top of my chart.
I want a rest. I have a week off, so if no major crises pop up I should get what I want.
Afterthought: Venus in Libra, 8th house, conjunct Uranus and Pluto.
I want to go out and try a new activity, something I would never normally do. In short, I want to play! I also asked to be taken out for oysters, my once a year treat. Other requests: a book about the design theory of casinos, a whistle only dogs can hear, and festive underwear. Venus in Leo, 11th house (trine Mars/Jupiter, sextile Uranus).
I just want to be surrounded by my boyfriend and our kids. No drama. No issues. Just happy faces and laughter and…”WOW!!” Then again, my ex has sent a drum kit to my son. So maybe I just want to be reminded that there are at least two doors between the boy’s room and the rest of the house!
i want to see my family. we’re really spread out. and i’m not much good for maintaining contact on the phone.
stuff is less and less meaningful the older i get (particularly as nobody really seems to know what i like anyway, except my aunt.)
experience/memory i can never lose or use up. not on the core level.
giving you a potato is like trying to give henry a couch…
I like being given experiences and memories instead of stuff too. I like it when someone fights for me, is inspired by me, motivated to do something positive because of me. Makes me happy indeed
Venus in Aries in 10th, conjunct sun/mars, trine uranus
Venus in Cancer. I like stuff (to be given, collect, and hoard it), but at the same time I don’t (Gemini likes to travel light, as you said). On my birthday I want the right thing and I don’t want anything. I have a fear of my face showing that I don’t like something so I don’t have the stereotype “Cancer will like any gift as long as it’s thoughtful or goopy and sentimental.” Hell no. Plus I don’t like something small, I’d like my birthday to be the best and at the same time inconspicuous. I like to give people gifts. This Christmas I think I want a small Christmas tree in my room, or maybe Christmas lights. I’m Jewish, I never get one. I would also like snow and to watch The Snowman.
I save funny pictures and postcards on my computer. I think it’s a Cancer/Gemini thing to collect whimsical things..on the internet.
What do i want..hmm, to get out of xmas? I know its a bit bah humbug but i’d just like to not bother for a while. Venus in aries (so selfish).
P.S. speaking of funny pictures on the internet:

Vemus in Gemini in the 10th, opposite Neptune in the fourth. For Christmas what I really want is good food and rubbish television and intense but quiet bonding with my partner.
We tend to invest most of our resources into food over the holidays, so there’s good food and plenty of it because it’s the time when nobody is having to work so we can just put efforts into making and enjoying fancy meals (which we normally don’t have energy for).
I do like having presents though, something to put under the tree and open at some point but it makes little difference to me what it is. It could be a pen, or it could be a tiara and it would make no difference to me in terms of enjoyment because small things I like make me just as joyous as large ones. For my partner (Saggi Sun, Aries Mars and Moon) more often than not I try to give experiences (this year it’s a voucher for a flying lesson).
Materiality isn’t important in the sense of “I want you to spend X amount of money on me” and I’d be very angry if I found out that someone had gone into debt or whatever in order to buy me gifts. I’d rather nobody be in debt and i receive a handful of leaves they picked up on the street,or the promise to make me dinner.
This Christmas though, what I really want is for my baby to be born so we can finally hold it in our arms and play with it.
