My son has the family Mars Mercury signature - Jupiter conjunct Mercury in Aries. We are all super confident boasters and he was hanging around the soldier for all of five minutes when he ripped off his shirt:

“I said I’d kick your butt, come on!” my son said.

The soldier and I stood there looking at his skinny chest as he climbed on top a chair and started throwing punches in the air. I was so proud. He did threaten the soldier on the phone some months ago and the boy follows through.

A few weeks ago we were in the bathtub in that ice storm…

“There’s something on you, P,” the soldier said.

I was naked so I stared at him. “What do you mean?”

“There is something right there on your shoulder,” he said pointing.

I looked down and saw a disgusting, brown, slimy, glob and there was no way I was going to touch it. It was tiny but it looked like a slug or a slimy bug, or gunk that might grow around sink that no one cleans, that stays wet all the time. Faucet slime? The hotel was immaculate so who knows.

“What is that?” I asked. “Get it off me.”

He picked it off and flung it. “I don’t know what that was. It must have fallen out of your hair,” he said.

“What? That didn’t come out of my hair. My hair is clean. It must have come out of your ear, there is no other possible place.”

“It’s on your shoulder because it fell from your hair and landed.”

“Fell out of your ear you mean.”

“No, hair.”

“No, ear.”

We have been fighting about this since.  It’s another problm we have along with who left who when we were kids.

My son has his Sun, Moon, and ascendant in the Venus-ruled signs. He definitely wants to partner. Matter of fact he got up one morning when he was 5 and told me he was “tired of sleeping alone.” I had to laugh seeing as he’d never slept otherwise but…

“I know what he wants,” I said to the soldier regarding Vidroid. “My son wants a date. He definitely wants a girlfriend and in this case he knows you got the girl so he wants to see how you did that. He knows I love you, he wants to see how and why.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah, he’s going to study you. I guarantee you that is what he’s up to.”

“Well he made me do push-ups with him sitting on my back.”

“I saw that. Was that hard?”

“It wasn’t easy,” he said.

“Oh. Well I guess I should have stopped him. I told him you were old.”

“It’s okay. But once we did them he came and got me and said we were going to do it again. You need a workout, he said.”

“Oh brother.”

“So we did them again so I guess this is what he found out. If you want to get the girl you have to be able to do some push-ups.”

If you were dealing with an 8-year old, what would you recommend they do if they want to “get the girl”.

Another thing about the Moon / Mars aspect, there is a soldier in my house. But also Vidroid and the soldier are hanging out together in a way that is significant - for the first time.

Now I did not doubt they would get along. Their Suns are conjunct. Vid’s Scorpio Mars is conjunct the soldier’s Moon. My son’s moon and rising is in Libra, conjunct the soldier’s N Node… ha ha ha

They are also have Aries in common and they both have Venus in Gemini and since Gemini rules the hands, it should be no surprise they spent time playing video games where they annihilate people - this after practicing a little hand to hand combat.

When they tired of that, the Tauri lay down in front of the TV with 2 pillows each… waiting for dinner no doubt.

Personally I feel pretty roiled up with Mars square the Moon in Libra and the rest of today’s Cardinal T-square.

My stomach feels like I ate something mildly irritating that is going to be there awhile. Pluto adds a sense of foreboding.

How do you feel today?

“People just don’t realize,” I said. “The people in your life I mean. They don’t seem to comprehend what is going on with us. I don’t think they know this can happen to you with somebody else.”

“No they don’t”

“Right. There are only two exceptions that I know of.” I outlined the exceptions as I saw them. “Everyone else is just looking elsewhere I guess you could say and if they get in it… well all kinds of things they are not expecting, happen.”

“Yeah, they do. You an I together are like a bug zapper. You know those things that are lit up and zap bugs? People are attracted but if you get too close you’ll get zapped. zzzt!”

“It’s true. I have no idea why this is but it is exactly what happens. Fried to a crisp.”

Composite chart has Aquarius rising, Mars in Leo on the descendant - gee, wonder why we fight so much… and so suddenly. Composite Mars is loosely conjunct Uranus in the 6^th, Pluto in the 7^th. The situation is beyond merely explosive.

Are you aware of the third entity that is independent from the two halves that is created in your relationship (and shown by the composite.)

“Look,” I said to the soldier today. “It will be the last day of the year and here this will all be going down with my daughter. And where will you be? About 3 miles away? 3 miles! Can you believe that? How can the universe set something up like this?. What are the odds?” I asked.

“Sounds like par for the course to me. For us, anyway. If it were anyone else you’d notice but for us, it always happens like this.”

I remembered accidently landing at that wedding in a Catholic Church in St. Paul… a few hours after we met a truck stop with one of soldier’s songs blaring into the parking lot on outdoor speakers - Freda Payne’s Band Of Gold.

“Well I don’t know how to parse it. It always makes me think of Apocalypse Now (a movie we saw together when it was released). At the end of that movie they are killing… sacrificing that animal, well you know. There are these things going on all at once and you are left to figure out what it all means. I don’t know what it all means but it seems I should. Should something not be obvious?”

“Don’t know, P. I just know this is how it goes for us.”
