pisces“I have pictures of other traps I have found,” he said. “I have one I took with my boot hanging over a punji trap.”

“You thought that was funny?”

“Uh huh.”

“I would like to see that picture. I would like to see all your pictures.”

“Well, I’ll show them to you. But I sure wish you were a man. It’s too bad you have to be a girl,” he said.

“What? You just told me yesterday how glad you were that I was a girl.” (Note the Pisces here… two fish, two directions) “You specifically said, I sure am glad you’re a girl, P.”

“Well yeah. I want a girl to sleep with but I want another man when it comes to looking at war pictures. War pictures are something men should see ,” he said.

“Well I’m sorry about that. But I would like to see them if you want so whatever. You decide.”

“Well I’m going to show them to you, you know I am. I just wish… oh, never mind, P.”

“Yeah, okay. And mourn my femaleness on your own time, would you? I’m not changing and I don’t want to listen to complaints about my sex. It’s not going to kill you if a girl sees your pictures. I am pretty sure you’ll survive the horror, won’t you?”

Since the Soldier has got a strong female side in him as well, and you, Elsa, definitely have an equally strong male side, just tell him you will put your inner male up front when looking at the pictures. And I guess it would be better NOT to wear a skirt…;-)

Seriously, I can relate to what he means, like in having to overcome his innert chivalry in showing those photos to you, and I can imagine it going very deep, since you are his “good and loving world”, and the war is just the complete opposite. So it´s about merging those worlds, kind of, and making the other side more real. Telling stories is something different, and more abstract in some way.

I don´t know if I´m coming across in what I mean to say, but I´m sure it´s a huge step for him, and I can relate to his concerns, even if they´re not necessary and not necessarily a “boy-girl-matter”.

Kundrie - I agree with you. I also think this is his Venus in Gemini. There is a dual nature and 2 loves. You have one, you want the other.

If living in love… he misses the war. If living in war, he misses the love.

This is why it’s good I scream all the time. ;-)

Besides which he might just wish he had a guy friend with whom he could share some of these horrific and even weird ‘different world’ memories with from time to time?? - especially when he’s had to be so covert all the time, I’d think trying to find an equal that was also friendship material might be hard to come by? I’m thinking one of such ilk would be hard to attach to overly much for fear of his death as well. I don’t know for certain as I’m probably too girly to undertand war buddies much.

I’d agree that the gallant portion of the soldier’s psyche just might rebel at sharing some of those atrocities of war w/such a fine fem! A need to keep some kind of distance between his sane and safe world and the (for most people) unsafe one?
