Astrology In The Mainstream: It Is Changing Our World
Ask the collective
I’m just back from picking up meds for the soldier and stopped to perceive the change. Astrology is bleeding into the mainstream, there is no denying this. Mercury is retrograde at the moment and 10 years ago, I’d have likely been the only one at the pharmacy to know that. Today, I am not so sure.
If 1 person in 10 knows Mercury is retrograde, it might help them relax when information and things like prescriptions get mixed, but what if 5 out of 10 knew? This would make a major difference, don’t you think?
How has astrology changed your life?

i’m getting a lot more practice trusting my instincts because i’ve found that i’m reasonably in tune with what’s going on instinctually, and keeping tabs on the actual planetary motion gives me a better perspective on what my instincts are feeding on me… and thus i’m more likely to trust them, because generally, they’re pretty on top of things if i pay attention.
I agree with Kashmiri about understanding myself better which in turn has brought me peace of mind.
The interesting part for me is that my Enneagram results, chakra test results, Keirsey Temperament results all backup the astrology. So much for those who say that astrology is wrong!
Astrology is completely fascinating… until a few years ago I thought it was the dumbest thing I’d ever heard of (based on newspaper horoscopes), then I had my natal chart done and was instantly hooked. Sometimes when I think about it, how we’re all connected to the universe in this way it just blows my mind… it’s a very beautiful thing and it helps one to be more compassionate towards the weaknesses of others (and also one’s self)… and I know that the names of the planets and signs, fixed stars etc. are only words and don’t really touch on however the hell astrology actually does work, I absolutely love all the symbolism involved.
I agree. I think the main thing about Astrology is precisely giving us the other perspective that is sometimes more distant and allows us to accept things faster and see them in a different light.
It also helps me understand myself better and accept my infinite flaws.
Mostly it’s helped me get a handle on how many differences there can be between people. I don’t always take myself as the benchmark anymore, but can acknowledge someone else has totally different influences acting on them, and can cut them a little more slack because of that.
True tale from the workplace, where communications have been absolutely fubar’d…
I’m in the breakroom talking to a coworker about how crazy life has been and about a couple of big contracts lost and unhappy clients (due to miscommunications) etc….
Another coworker walks in with a shellshocked look and blurts, “Is Mercury retrograde or something? It has to be, I haven’t had a day like this in a while!”
To which my coworker and I respond, “Yep, it is, actually.”
Shellshocked coworker nods, says, “Well, that explains it,” grabs her cup of coffee and goes back to her cubicle.
I love astrology, I do. I feel it gives me an interesting and more cohesive perspective on other people and events. It’s never, ever proved me wrong. However, sometimes I regret having learned even the little I have. Whenever I meet someone new who I am interested in, I usually can’t resist getting their birth info and this sort of sets things up for me so things don’t unfold as naturally. It’s a weird dichotomy but I still learn more every day.
I got into astrology with uranus conjuncting my sun. I guess it’s fair to say it was liberating. The truth shall set you free.
It changed my life in many ways. Kickstarted my understanding of me and the world, which is something I had been looking for since forever. I can’t count the ways it’s changed me.
A whole hell of a lot just makes more sense!
Charlotte, I think I understand what you are saying, having had a similar instance in a recent relationship. Now wondering how it would have played out had I not known their astro info and if I’d of gone w/my normal reactions as opposed to reacting to them thru the shades of reality AND the perceived sign images.
For one thing I’d think it would of been over much sooner but may have been deeper. Less surface, more meat.
Length or depth? I’m left wondering which is better.
I don’t know. I have difficulty separating it from the othe things my parents taught me to help me handle life and the strange energies, people and experiences in it. I grew up with astrology so I guess I take it for granted.
I find it a useful tool. Much like any other tool that allows you to grasp events in life and to put things in perspective.
Astrology has caused me to procrastinate more and it’s also been one way, one of many that are all interconnected, to see patterns in life.
I’d like to know if I’m the only one who meets interesting new people / gets turned on to interesting new (potential) experiences during Mercury retro? And…why did I meet someone who piqued my romantic interest (and this doesn’t happen often) with Venus retro? This is odd and becoming more noticeable as I get older.

Astrology has been great for a few things. It’s helped me understand myself better (motivations, instinctual reactions, etc).
Which is important, but the most important thing is that it’s helped my relationships with others so, so, so much. Tracking transits helped me make my decision to go to art school (I already wanted to, the stellar indicators were flawless).
And it keeps me in check, in a way…eg. knowing right now that Mars is squaring my natal Mars has prompted me to put the ‘count to 50′ rule in place for the foresable future. Starting as soon as I found out!
