Brilliant observations. Thank you. It’s even more appropriate that I’m a Sag who wrote about Neptune/Pisces today. Here, all along, I thought it was Pisces’ drug stash I was envious of… ;)

Hey, Pisces doesn’t need drugs we have natural high. lol Great job, Elsa. I was really curious about what I could envy about Gemini. Nothing against them, I’m surrounded by them though. Both my mom and my birth father are Geminis and my husband too. They certainly are full of energy. Never boring.

So, I am a little confused about why someone would want to be superficial. I guess maybe because Pisces have to make everything out to be epic. There is not small thing in the mind of Pisces. Maybe… for me anyway, I have to filter everything through metaphors and everything has special meaning. Does that go for all Pisces or just myself?

It’s true! I’m a Pisces and at times I would get super pissed at my Gemini best friend’s blatant and unapologetic superficiality but secretly (and it is a secret, don’t tell) I was so jealous of her ability to just talk to everyone and be happy, fun and frivolous at the drop of a hat. What more she did not feel the need to examine or ruminate on the happenings. She never had to ask “well, what does this mean? how do I feel?” because she just WAS and had fun.

This is pretty interesting. I have heard of a drive in all people to fill what is “missing” in their natal chart, like a particular element or sign, to bring more balance to their lives but I’ve never thought about envy. Pretty cool.

No Blair, I think that is normal for a Pisces, at least it is for me. I see archetypes and symbols everywhere.

I took that ’superficial’ thing to mean that sometimes it would be nice to just enjoy things without thinking about it so much, or without knowing so much behind it.

Elsa used the example of a party and the Gemini is mixing and enjoying it all because it’s a party and that’s what parties are for. And I’m the Pisces sitting over there just thinking to myself and seeing everything that is happening and understanding all of the less than obvious things that are going on beneath the surface. I could be thinking ‘What is Betty doing that guy who is so obviously as slimeball, and how can I get away from this person who keeps trying to tell me about windsurfing?’ lol

I’m a pisces, but I think gemini is one of the least enviable for me. I might have envied them when I was in school and was a social nerd and suffered because of it, but superficiality isn’t useful anymore at this point in my life, and was never atractive.
Being in a pisces mind is really fun. We get to think the weirdest things, people have no idea. I’m trying to remember any example. but no.
    too hard to explain.

I love this series, Elsa! As a Gemini, let me propose another angle on why Pisces might long for something Gemini offers: we can be rational, impersonal, and objective. As a pure energy, Gemini is mental, not emotional, so we can observe what is and express it without lots of distortion, sort of like a recording device. Might be a nice relief for Pisces to disentangle their various emotions and impressions from the objective “truth” of a situation.

Another way to put it is that Pisces might feel confused not knowing where she ends (her feelings, her obligations, etc) and where the rest of the world begins, whereas Gemini is pretty good about seeing distinctions. (Personally, I’m ready for a life as a passionate, high-rolling Sagittarian. They have the most fun of the zodiac, right?)

haha…i can’t stop with the metaphors, archetypes and symbols either! my friend tells me that when you’ve got a hammer everything looks like a nail. i guess it is true, if you see the world through symbols…it reflects back in symbols and everything holds a special meaning. but i don’t have pisces sun, only mercury, and my cappy moon is conjunct neptune as well.

So true! I am a sagittarius and I really envy Pisces natural faith.

Great piece, Elsa! Although I have no desire to BE a Gemini, I do envy the ability to be around people without having to spend twice as much time at the deep dark bottom of the sea recouping my lost energy!

Question: Is it possible this envy cycle works in reverse, also? I envy the Sagittarians’ ability to just blithely pop out the most brutal truths and to maintain ridiculous optimism in the face of adversity….while I can doubt myself no matter how obviously in the right I am….

Very fun and clever, Elsa! Thanks for doing these. They are thought provoking as well. :)

I regret not having seen the video to this segment :(, but read the responses and would like to add a little interesting tidbit from “Astrology for Lovers,” by Liz Greene. You stated that Pisces envy Gemini (?…sorry, I am assuming this by the responses)–Very interestingly, Liz Greene states that Gemini have an irresistible attraction to water signs. The reason being “that Gemini usually has a pretty hard time both knowing what he feels subjectively about those things and expressing those feelings to anyone else.” Also, he’s (Gemini) often fascinated by the piscean distinterest in rational explanations, and charmed or alternatively , terrified by their lack of embarrassment about their own emotions.”

I am a piscean married to a gemini for 23 years now. As quickly as he thinks, I believe and know : ) that I am a more powerful thinker and decision-maker than he…also, it may be because I have a gemini ascendant…

Linda - those videos will be back… sorry! The whole site is down, it looks like a DNS attack. :-(

It’s been so helpful to read what other Pisces say on this topic! It’s nice to know that I’m hardly the only one who’s always absorbing EVERYTHING, with little natural filter for what to pay more (or less) attention to,etc.
On the other hand, my Taurus husband says he likes the way Pisces always have so much going on at once in their minds that he never sees them acting bored, and it’s true! My Pisces friends & I always have a zillion things to consider, fantasize, ponder, etc. - for better or worse, it just goes on & on.
I envy Geminis their ability to deal with life on a more detached & mental level; I don’t find it nesessarily “superficial,” but another facet of experiencing life. It’s also one that allows Geminis to MOVE; to go on to the next thing, person, experience… and get on with life!
In dealing with a given choice/ situation/etc, while my Pisces friends & I are stuck in the depths, seeing & pondering every side of every level, blah blah blah, my Gemini friend has isolated what needs to be done, taken care of it, & is already meeting new people, finding new opportunities, seeing new places, AND taken care of a hundred useful things!
