Astrology, Love and Money: What’s Your Currency?
Astrology in Real Life…
The soldier watched all the videos this weekend…
“What do you think of them?” I asked.
“They’re great, P. They’re even better than I thought. I’m sure I’m going to lose you.”
“What?”
“Yeah. Some George Clooney guy is going to come around and you’ll go off with him.”
“Oh for Godsakes.”
“Well, P.”
“Well, what? You sound stupid just saying that. What would I do with George Clooney? Or anyone even remotely like him? What would I dooooooooo?”
“I don’t know, P. I just keep thinking I’m going to wake up… someone is going to wake me up and say hey, Sergeant! And I’ll wake up and be laying in the cold snow having had a dream about, P.”
“Oh God. George Clooney hasn’t got anything I want. He’s not got my currency; everyone knows that. Especially you! You know better than this, right?”
“I do know better, I’m just jealous.”
“Oh, okay. Well then knock yourself out. Writhe around. You can even punch a wall about the George Clooney of your imagination if you like. Don’t let reality curb your fun. George Clooney bores me to tears. I couldn’t take 24 hours with that guy. I’d be pulling my hair out. I’d be banging my head against the wall. I’d be doing whatever I had to do to get the hell out of there, where I don’t want to be. I’d scream and yell and do things that were gross but one way or the other I guarantee you I would make my escape.”
What’s your currency and where is your Venus?

Serious, intense kind of men, most of the time. Venus in Scorpio conj. Saturn and Pluto.
people with lots of spirit.
venus/aries/8th. aspected madly ![]()
Manly men, doing manly things! If I could beat him up, he’s out of the running. That said, they also have to be interesting intellectually and preferably a little quirky.
Venus in Cancer in the 12th, opposing Mars. And a Gemini sun in the 11th, which explains the rest.
Someone with a kind heart - Cancer sun?
But NOT a mama’s boy - Aries moon
My currency? Someone not afraid to love, or be emotional, and someone who is always READY TO GO…whooo…in more ways than one, heh.
Venus in Aries (3rd)
Currency?
When I look at a man I think ‘work’. I guess I’ve reached some point in my life where they no longer have my currency…
However my dog definitely has it. He’s a Pisces terrier. Sun square Pluto. Libra moon.
It’s in the ears, the facial expressions, the dumbness and smartness, and total complete unconditional attachment - he wouldn’t give me up for nothing even if I became a homeless person (Which if I date one more man could possibly happen, lol).
Taurian Venus opposite Neptune.
I don’t understand “currency.” What we talkin’ ’bout, Willis?
Gem venus opp Sag jupiter..he’s got to have conversational skills, integrity and be philanthropic. Wow-wee.
I’m not sure. I mean I know what I don’t like, you have to be clean (virgo moon), and you need to be working (Capricorn), I don’t want you following me around crowding my space (Venus, 12th house sagittarius, sag rising-ish,) But I want to go places, so I like it if you take me some place new (jupiter in the 9th) at least give me some new ideas, and you absolutly shouldn’t get boring (Gemini ruled 7th house, mercury cnj my sun, venus in Sag).
But as to what exactly it is, I (12th house venus) don’t know.
My friend Eric went over all the guys I’d gone ’round with that he ever met and said he couldn’t find the one thing they all had in common besides me. And we thought about it, and thought, and then he asked Taylor and she laughed and said “Good Posture. The one thing she won’t date is bad posture.” Which is true. I absolutly can’t stand people who slouch or stand like gorilla’s (Y’know? With their shoulders all hunched forward so they can lean forward on their knuckles if they need to?). Just . . Stand up for petes sake. I’m not sure if thats virgo (nit picking) or capricorn (bones) but just stand up straight and put your shoulders back! Please!

Oooh foxy you had me in stiches.
As for my men. Hmm I like a music man. I like a man who can play an instrument or is musical or artistic (venus trine mars/neptune conjucntion) but I love intensity, a dark horse, a loner, someone with a emotional depth, someone whose going to butt heads with me but still respect me and romance me. And most of all I want a passionate man. (Venus conjunct Pluto/Sun/ Saturn as apart of my stellium in the 8th house)
Thinking about this made me wonder- what if the positions that determine one’s “currency” are in conflict within their own natal chart, or are even just completely different in nature?
My “currency” has always been ridiculously exacting (Virgo rising & Sun in the 6th?)and even I knew it was highly unlikely that I’d manage to date much less marry someone who fulfilled even a quarter of the “list”! But somehow (Venus + the ruler of my chart in the 7th, maybe?), my husband of 15 years has ALL of my currency (& more):
They have to be whip-smart, not care what anybody thinks, & be fearless about exploring any subject, belief, philosophy, etc. Someone who can (and does) entertain any idea at all without necessarily embracing or adopting it. Very artistic/musical; be witty & have a great sense of humor; politically & philosophically liberal; passionate about life…. (I think these all relate to my 7th-house Venus in Aries trine Uranus in Leo in the 11th, and Mars in the 9th in Gemini, which is sextile both of them?)
However, I also need someone who’s loyal, kind, solid & down-to-earth, and who is capable of great intimacy. Doesn’t seem very compatible with the other stuff, and accordingly, I have a 4th-house conjunction that’s square my Venus & quincunx both Mars and Uranus.
Selkie - what a great point. I like this topic and plan to extend it. You too, SaDiablo. I made a video to address your question - it’s coming up.
Sweeet. ‘Cause I’m lost!
I was thinking “currency” is something different than just what you prefer?
