Help A Libra?
Behind the Scenes @ ElsaElsa
The new videos have created a problem for Libra who now has to decide something. I told a story on my last video coming up which is my natural state. I liked the result and now I want to talk (or write) about projection.
Projection is a lovely topic I know a lot about and I am pretty sure if I get started on it a series of blogs will result. So do I talk them? Or write them?
Talk them?
Write them?
I was thinking the videos ought to stand alone in case someone wants to post one of them on their blog. So “more later” is not going to work. I also like the short format for a variety of reasons. I don’t want to mess with it at the moment so that precludes me going on at length. Seems I ought to write.
But my physical presence would be helpful in making one of my main points and I do like to talk! I especially like to tell stories so now I am lost!
Does anyone have advice or perspective on this? Thanks.

I agree that being able to say “more later” with writing is a plus. In a purely self-serving fashion, I also vote for writing because the sound on my computer is not good, so I tend to not listen/watch video and audio much. And I’d love to be able to follow the discussion on projection!
do both?
I agree with L — writing is more accessible, in a technical sense, for more people (due to limited computer resources), though you may be able to communicate more in general via video.
Uh, so selfishly, I’d like video, because I don’t have problems playing it at all, but in consideration of other people it may have to be writing.
I seem to understand you better in the videos. I don’t know why. I think because I like hearing your voice it makes it easier for my brain. By the way, I love that you are making videos. You look a lot like I had pictured you, except somehow I didn’t know you had curly hair. You’re pretty
ha! on the saturn/virgo controlling of health issues:
“The mother and step-father of Fielder-Civil [parents of Blake, Amy Winrhouse’s husband] staged a public intervention, going on Radio Five Live and urging the public to stop buying Winehouse’s records, and for the music industry to stop giving her awards, in an attempt to shake her out of her drug addiction.”
so the parents are trying to control out of control children (saturn/authority), by cajoling the public/music industry to act responsibly (saturn) and not buy records so she can kick her habit and improve her health (virgo).
I think your communication in video is very good. I feel I get a lot of the ‘writing between the lines’ from your non-verbal communication. I am really really liking these - so I vote for video.
I like the freedom of flow in the written word. video limits how you can expound on a subject.
Hi,
)Perhaps there are others with the same problem? Perhaps you could keep the videos for the ’simpler’ blogs and write the more complex stories?
I love watching your videos, and it is true that seeing your face and expressions helps in understanding the nuances of what you are saying.
However, I’m not American, so I have a little difficulty with the American accent and some words just escape my comprehension (you talk fast
On a more egoistic note, I really love reading and I love the way you write.
You are a natural in the videos. You simply shine. I really enjoy your vids and I find I head right for them when visiting your site.
Both venue’s work but I suspect more people are attracted to videos blurbs these days than not. That’s my two cents. I vote for vid action.
In light,
Pepper
i’d prefer writing. but you can do a bit of both, you know. writing has more depth, the video has more room for expressiveness. you can write a lot and throw in some videos that explain stuff that doesn’t come across well in words. or some other mix, depending on what feels right for the information…
Either. a long video in a sea of short ones isn’t going to make a dramatic impact for or against anything. Projection’s a pretty heavy topic for some so words might make more sense for a complete understanding, but if you have a way of clearly expressing something any other way - do it!
I think you can blend the two pretty effectively. Maybe tell the story completely in writing and if you want to further illustrate or expand on a bit of the story, give us a little video that relates.
Gemini - my answer is always both instead of either or.
I believe the two can be blended effectively too. Longer written segments followed by the short videos to illustrate a particular point. If you write about the point you will be illustrating via video, then even those who have difficulty following spoken English will be able to figure it out.
BTW, I get the feeling you talk with your hands a bunch (Mars/Mercury - I do that too). . . it would be great to be able to see that too!
I pop in at work from time to time and I can’t get the video to play at work - so I vote both because I do love seeing you. If I had to chose just one I pick writing so we can track back easily. I’m more of a reader than a watcher - I didn’t replace my broken TV for almost a year and still don’t watch it much. My 2 cents.
I agree with Neith, that was what I thought when I read this post, mix the two!
I lean towards writing. I can print out a page, read it later, recall the words. Video…not so much. It flies in and out of my head fast. Hell, I have to remember to watch your videos at home (I’m rarely home) since the computer I am on all day has video disabled. I don’t get a lot of viewing done, even at one minute!
What Kathy, Neith, etc. said. Both! Perhaps write a transcript of what you said on the video and post that as well?
I don’t know…(*shakes head*) lol
But I’ve been reading a lot about projection, so whatever the form your blog will take, I will read/listen to it carefully.
oh thank god you asked this question, beacuse I was thinking of telling you how much I miss your writing.
You are great in the videos, cute, bubbly, but these one minute bits are just noise to me. They are snack, fast food, as opposed to your writing wich is deep and inquisitive and eloquent, and takes a long time to digest, and sticks in my mind longer. It has substance.
You seem to like doing them, but wirting is king hands down.
Best,
Elena
I like both, but tend to remember the writing more. Sometimes I remember what you wrote and I like to go back and read it again.
Plus, your STYLE of writing is so YOU, I do miss it a little. There’s something more intense about the writing, it’s hard to explain.
You’re awesome in any medium, though
Write the writing part, and talk the talking part. They are two parts of the same story, right? So they compliment one another. One supplements the other.
At least that’s what makes sense to me.
We have been reading your writing for awhile…the video is fantastic…very emphatic and visual and inspirational. Unfortunately, my computer only gets the stream every few seconds so I must wait (for 10 or more seonds) to see what you will say next so it becomes disjointed for me! Perhaps you could do both for those of us with slower computers (for whatever reason) and the modern, now go go up to date users! We ALL love you whatever you do and wish you all success! You do NOT need to post this msg. Love you and many thanks for all you do!
((hugs))
I too have Libra, so of course I can see advantages of both. But I vote for writing, just because I have a slow connection and even the short videos take a long time to load.
You’re going to make me get broadband eventually, I can tell.
Could you do writing and video together? But, make the video parts longer and title them the same as the rest of the series, rather than One Minute Astrology…? So, using the video for two separate purposes…
The videos are fun, but i guess it would be very hard for them to work with more serious issues like questions and answers and your very personal experiences. Since that moves and interests me most, I´d vote for writing, with a dash of video every now and then.
Maybe make the main point in video and expound further in writing for those wanting to get deeper into the subject.Personally,I love the idea of using your imagination to connect to the writer and the words she writes.Video at once gets us a bit lazy, but allows faster communication.I still wonder what Harry Potter would look like to us all if there were no movies to watch.
