Open Question: Devastated By Loss Of A Job She Loved - Should She Keep The Company T-Shirt?
Elsa,
I’ve started two non-profits now. The last one I was the first executive director of the non-profit. I loved my job. The problem was that the board did not mean me well and fired me. I have been struggling for almost 8 months to find a new line of work and a new direction. It is painful to lose a job that you loved and that you believed in the dream that you were working towards. I was cleaning out my closet today and came across two t-shirts. They were the non-profit’s first t-shirts with our logo. A logo I helped design.
I am too ashamed of what happened to wear the t-shirts and am wondering if I should give them away. They’re beautiful hemp fabric but have the logo on them. Am I keeping the energy of something that did me harm? Should I hold onto them because I’ll regret not keeping a token of my work in 20 years? Will getting rid of them now help me heal or will I regret it later?
I do need to heal and get on with a new line of work where I am appreciated. It’s overdue at this point.
Thoughts?

This was sent in as an open question, so please have at it!

I have no idea on the astrology of it, but I’d say to hide the shirts away somewhere where you know where to find it, but won’t accidentally stumble across it. Once you throw it out, that’s it and you might regret it later, but if you save it but put it out of sight and mind, years later when this isn’t so fresh and painful, it might not be such an issue for you.
Hey, it’s what I do with photos of my exes
when a long time corporate employer who cut me loose in an extremely unkind way…didn’t know what to do with my wardrobe of commemorative t-shirts, many of which i had a hand in designing and/or producing. i ditched some, but boxed up others, that now, 10 years later, i’m glad to have. time heals. save the shirts. your future self will thank you.
Saturn (lessons that teach understanding) in the 10th (career) ruled by Pisces (compassion and serving)…ouch, it’s all gotta hurt!
Look to your North Node (highest humane vibration) in Sagittarius (optimism) in the 7th (relationships), especially if you want to ’serve.’
The ‘token of your work’ is your legacy as a creator. The t-shirt may be symbolic, but your Piscean Saturn understands that symbols are not just material. Don’t let shame be your guide. If you choose to keep the shirts then hold your head up high. If you choose to chuck them, take the Piscean route and assimilate…it’s all part of the process.
I can’t help with the astrology either. I have shirts from my last job in a drawer that I am rarely ever in. When I see the shirts, I think wow look at how much better my life is now and how much I have grown emotionally, spiritually etc. since I worked there! They help me to really appreciate my life now. I hope this helps!
Dear T-shirt owner,
don´t throw those T-Shirts away!
There´s no need to be ashamed. I´m sure you did a very good job and will do so in the future. As from your chart, starting non profit organisations seems just the right thing for you to do.
But there´s the conjunction of Mars and Saturn, squaring both Venus and the Moon. A lot of tough teaching in there. Mars and Saturn combined means a blocking of action, the will to act and its frustration rolled into one. And if frustrated, it will not only leave you feel blocked, but socially dismissed (Venus) and unwanted and unloved (Moon) as well, just as if having been dumped by the love of your life. So the loss of the job you loved really really hurts, in several ways, and you´ve got a right to hurt and to grieve.
But see, it´s been YOUR work, your effort, your artistry that the shirts are symbol of, your talents, your legacy as creator, as Kashmiri wrote ,not your shame. You´ve been in there, you´ve been giving - and for whatever reason that ended, if YOU don´t cherish your own energy and it´s manifestations, then they will be forgotten and “worthless” and “the others will have won”. The responsibility (Saturn) of valuing the history (Saturn) of your actions and successes(Mars) in itself is on you, and that can be a strong part of the healing process and of moving on.
Mars-Saturn is practically trained by blocks and frustration, and I figure that with Saturn in the center of a t-square as well, there are some serious childhood issues going with that. Issues of feeling left out and unwanted. So I guess that “being appreciated” is, in a very personal and emotional way, what you want from your work, what you put your efforts into, which can make you vulnerable and dependant in a way others are not even aware of.
Neptun in 7 will gladly cloud this with glorious veils of vision of a better world and better people, but beware. We´re in plain reality here, and there´s not all good people in good businesses, so to speak. There are some rose-colored glasses concerning other people indicated in this chart, so maybe you take your time to get through what really happened, analyse the situations, make sure that some of it will never happen to you again, because now you´re bruised, but smarter. Differing instead of suffering, which your Virgo moon may appreciate as a method of healing.
And: whatever you want to do the world good, do it to yourself first. Saturn aspects are all about knowing what we´re worth without needing others to notice or confirm that. It´s learning to nurture oneself, heal oneself, be kind to oneself, be one´s own parent, stand by one´s own side loyally. It´s about gaining self respect from scrap, basically, of becoming in-dependent.
However deep the hurting is, “they”´ve not even touched, let alone crushed, your own talents, powers, and abilities. So that´s what belongs to you and what you take with you. Let those shirts be symbols of that.
Good luck!
I see a lot of earth in water houses in your chart - Sun and Mercury (chart ruler) in Taurus in the 12th with Moon in Virgo in the 4th. You are likely to be quite sentimental, but practical about it; you value tradition, and material things. So I would think that in the future you would be glad you kept the mementos of your work, even though it wounds you emotionally now. I would keep the shirts packed away in a box somewhere.
Remember you’ve got a lot of interesting things in your chart, very creative (grand trine in fire houses in Air: ASC Gemini, MC Aquarius trine Pluto and Uranus in Libra in the 5th) and Jupiter and Venus in 10th give you a lot of luck in achievement and love of what you do. Hang in there!!
