“Well you came in the apartment on your way home from work. You were in your uniform and you didn’t see me at first. You were talking to this other guy and his girlfriend. They just had the door open and stopped you on your way passing by because they asked you if you wanted to come in.”

“Did I?”

“No, not really. You wanted to come in a little but I don’t think you were going to stay or anything. You didn’t see me at first. I was sitting in the corner there.” (Scorpio likes their back to the wall).

“Yeah, so you said a few words to them… you were mostly being polite I think. I don’t think you had any plans to stay but then you saw me.”

“What did I do?”

“Well you wanted to know who I was so you asked me who I was. Who are you? Tell me who you are, you said.”

I laughed. “God I have balls. Did you answer that?”

“Yeah. I said, well I’m…” he gave his name. I said it just like that too. I said my first name and then I said it again with my whole name and I could tell you liked it.”

“Yeah, I still do. You have the best name in the world.”

“Yeah, well you liked it then too and you said so. You repeated it and said; now that’s a good name. That’s a very good name to have.”

I laughed. “Well good. That’s what I’d have been thinking so I told you the truth. Never mind, nothing wrong with a little flattery (Venus in Leo). What’d you say?”

“Well, thank you, ma’am.” he said.

“Ma’am? You really work that ma’am crap, don’t you?”

He laughed. “Well yes I do work it and it works pretty good too. Men would fare better with women if they’d just learn some simple manners. But anyway, once you had my name you got this look on your face. You were trying to decide what you wanted to do. Because you were going to leave but now you’d met me and I had this name you liked.”

“What did I decide?”

“Well nothing at first. It took you awhile to decide anything. You just stood there in the middle of the room, thinking and I just let you do it. I were trying to decide and I was watching you try to decide.”

“Did I decide?”

“No, you couldn’t decide.”

I laughed. Damned Libra! “So what did I do?”

“Well I guess you decided you needed more information so you asked another question. Well first you repeated my name. You said it a couple times. You liked saying it I could tell. You liked my name for sure. You liked it a lot and then you asked me, where’d you get a name like that anyway? Who named you that anyway? Who gave you that name? That’s not a name people have. And I said, well, ma’am…”

I snorted. “Oh my God, you’re deadly. Were you after me then? Were you after me or was this just happening?”

“Was I after you? Of course I was after you. Are you kidding me? I was after you from the moment I laid eyes on you, I just didn’t know what to do. I was shy. I was inexperienced. You were the one with all the experience. You were experienced as hell and I had no idea what to do. I was just trying to talk to you so I said well, ma’am, I’m half this. And I said, and I’m a quarter this and I’m an eighth of this. And ma’am?”

“Yeah?”

“Well, I believe I’m a quarter Italian, too,” he said with a chuckle. “I gave you the whole run down like that and you just listened and stared at me. You didn’t say anything so I kept going. I said, yes my name is this, and I was born here in this country. But I was not raised in this country, I was raised over here in this other one. But then I went to this other one and then this one and then back to this other one. And then I was here but I guess I’ve gone and wound up right here in this room.”

I could feel my head spinning in the present day, same as it did back then. “Did that do it?”

“Yeah. After I said that you came right over and sat down next to me. You made a beeline.”
