Astrology and Hipsters On Scooters vs Hippies in Volkswagons: Pluto in Leo, Virgo and Libra
Astrology in Real Life
I’m back from getting my scooter serviced, I bought it the premier scooter shop here, Sportique, where everyone working there is steeped in this culture. Hipsters, I guess they’re called but whatever they are, I like them. I like their sideburns and their self esteem. They remind me of the hippies of the 60’s who also had costumes and a preferred mode of transport, the VW van.
The first is the Pluto in Libra generation, the hippies had Pluto in Leo but what about my generation with Pluto in Virgo? We don’t seem to have distinguished ourselves in this way. Perhaps we have and I am too immersed to see it but when I think of Pluto in Virgo, we seem to be the ones who are messing with genetics. You know. We’re trying to perfect the human race and cure all these ills. We’re sort of these scary do-gooders or something and I don’t know what to say except I’m one of them.
To what generation to you belong and do you feel you relate?

AHHHHHHHHHH Hipsters. I’m so glad you can appeal to the younger audience, Ms. Elsa! Yes, hipster. Pluto in Libra. The Elite. The oh darn, sometime vain beautiful culture of this era.
I understand them so much better now.
I’m from the Pluto in Scopio generation. Sex? Lots of sex? Emo kids? Haha, I don’t know.
I’m Pluto in Libra.
We’re sexy.
Hmmm. I’ve got Pluto in Libra, but I prefer the hippie era. *headscratch*
Pluto in Libra as well. Sexy? Yeah, but I didn’t think about that! I think for me maybe it has to do with relationships (it’s also in my 7th house though). Living in sin and all that (but I secretly would love to get married, though that’s a new development). I’ve never much cared about marriage before, but Saturn is coming my way pretty soon, so who knows?
OMG saggal, exactly! I had no qualms about having my first child w/out being married. Now I’m expecting my second, my Saturn return is nearly over, and I’m really looking forward to being married! Go figure!
I’ve got Uranus conjunct Pluto in Virgo and its hard to pin a particular cultural expression to this generation. Getting the job done comment from Laura is good - appeals to my earth trine - capable of much hard work mental/physical. The punk explosion is a good one too - right timing - however I have trouble relating to them personally. I made a comment about this generation which Elsa made into a post - somewhere here - as conservative appearances yet are underground/private revolutionaries, like secret business. My Ur. conunct Pl is the 5th house -can endure long hours on detailed technology/graphics - controling my pixels! ha.
Another expression for Pluto in Virgo - health conscious - vitamin pill poppers!
Pluto in Virgo. Hm. Yah, Laura Elizabeth, getting stuff done. Also, a lot of my peers seem to either obsess over their health or are into alternative health practices (maybe that is Uranus lurking around the same sign?). I’ve also noticed that quite a few are quietly but definitely neurotic…
My Pluto is in Scorpio - but aren’t the generations more connected to Uranus transits than to Pluto? At least that’s what I’ve been hearing.
Or is it Neptune? Well, perhaps we can speak of all the three types of generations (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto)
I’d agree with the alternative health aspect, and punk, possibly rave and the E generation for the later ones too. Punk was more political and it definitely sparked a generation that can see through the b*llocks (neptune in scorpio?)of authority.
I’m Pluto in Virgo. My ex has a scooter; my BF had a scooter. I have 3 male friends with scooters who also ride in scooter rallies. I definitely have a “thing” for scooter people ![]()
Pluto in Virgo generation - plastic surgery.

IIRC, I read somewhere that Uranus-Pluto in Virgo was the force behind the punk rock movement. It emerged in the mid-1970’s, which means that at least many of the fans of this music and followers of the lifestyle would have had Pluto in Virgo. The Wikipedia article on the phenomenon states that “The associated punk subculture expressed youthful rebellion, distinctive clothing styles, a variety of anti-authoritarian ideologies, and a DIY (do it yourself) attitude.” It seems to fit the Uranus-Pluto conjunction quite well. But according to the article, punk rock enjoyed limited popularity outside the UK… What went on in the USA at the same time? KISS or something, probably. Looks more like Pluto in Leo to me…;)
Many great musicians have Pluto in Virgo, for example Jeff Buckley (Sun-Neptune in Scorpio and Mars-Uranus-Pluto in Virgo) and Dave Navarro (poster-child for Uranus-Pluto on ASC, if you ask me…:). Incidentally, these to are both guitarists, I just happened to bring them up because I’ve noted their placements…
Now, Pluto in Libra; we are their very appreciative fans;) And we were the followers of grunge… But we are a very active generation when it comes to political demonstrations. Could it be about more than us just being the right age (at the right time)? Hmmm…
