I have trying to post more frequently and had little trouble until today. Today I stalled and here is why:

“I am having trouble writing my blog today,” I confided to a friend. “It’s because everything I know right now is… well, it’s vile! All I know is all this stuff that is completely appalling and I am just not sure I should hit people with it.”

She seemed to agree.

“Yeah, I don’t know why I am being shown such a steady diet of stuff so thoroughly disgusting but I am and I just think I should understand this better than I do at the moment before I go trying to write. Because everything I have to say now would be raw and scathing and I am not sure this suits my blog at the moment. Hopefully things will become better refined. I just think if I am going to bring this stuff up I need to have a good understanding exactly why I am doing it. You need a reason to inflict this on people and I don’t have one at the moment so I am forced to contain and process this privately which is okay. But unfortunately it cost me a down day on the blog.”

I have resisted writing a daily forecast for years because they suck in many ways. And now I’m writing one and I am going to keep writing it because people like it but at times I am going to complain bitterly, like now.

Today I wrote about a big happy dog. You know those dogs who are exuberant? That’s the kind of dog I meant. But I am not having that kind of day. I’ll tell you how this day is going.

With all the Sagittarius energy, I want to travel. Uranus is involved so it’s an impulse. I want to GO! I want to go like one of those dogs with an extended puppy-hood. I want to go like a 2 year old Lab chasing a Frisbee into the next state. So there’s the energy but can I indulge it? NO!

I am a parent! I have Saturn (restriction) transiting in aspect to my natal Uranus (freedom urge) and I have to be here when my kids get home from school.

Further, today is the last day of school so I have other extra-credit things to do to make it special for my children and blah, blab, blah.

So yes There is happy dog energy but in my case, I just feel skittish. But you think I’m suffering? Get this:

I just got a mail from a 25 year old man who lost his mother s few days ago. He’s got a stellium in Scorpio and is getting absolutely creamed by the Saturn Neptune opposition. His whole family… well, you can imagine. He is excruciating pain. So how do you think he feels when he reads about a Happy Dog?

But this energy did play in his life. It’s a full moon (female) conjunct Jupiter (foreign) that is supposed to be benevolent. And what am I? I am a foreign woman (he is in India). And when I got his mail I responded immediately with everything I had, so you see the energy is there. I actually do care about him.

The Moon Jupiter (benevolent woman) opposing Gemini (communication) square Uranus (humanitarian / the internet). That’s the t-square in action.

But does this help the uninitiated when they feel horrible and come across a forecast like this? No! So I say if you are going to read these things, learn how. And here is rule one:

If it doesn’t help you or seem relevant to you, then disregard it and come back tomorrow!

Full Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Jupiter, supposed to be happy and I suppose it is. But with Uranus involved forming a mutable t-square the energy is frenetic sort of like a big happy dog that knocks you down and licks your face when you least expect it. But this a good thing, right?

Dear Young Man,

I appreciate and admire your sensitivity and think you are wise to consider this carefully before telling this girl how you are feel. Because unfortunately I would be very surprised she feels the same way, if she has never given you any indication of this. I’m sorry.

I also notice you didn’t mention how you came about knowing she was interested in someone else. But if she is the one who told you, you can be almost certain that she said this as a means to keep you at a distance. So if this is the case, I would definitely not say anything to her because you will do exactly as you fear… put her in an uncomfortable situation and almost certainly compromise the friendship, if not end it entirely.

But if she did not tell you about another man directly then perhaps you should bring this up. Put on the table and I’ll tell you the best way to do that.

Do it casually! Please do not confess your undying love or she will surely feel her skin crawl. It’s just too much. Just very casually let her know you are attracted to her and be ready at the slightest indication she does not share your feelings, to drop it completely.

For the record, I have lost lots of friendships this way. But I have kept two friends (for life) after a message like this was conveyed and both times it was because the person doing the revealing kept it very simple and withdrew completely when they turned away. So if you are turned away?

So what! The way it stands you are caught on this girl and if you learn she has no intention of being caught on you, then you’ll be free to look elsewhere for someone who can and will reciprocate your affection.

Also feelings like this thrive in a vacuum but once they are let out, they will surely dissipate. And if she loves you too? Well in that case, congratulations!

So considering this, won’t it be ironic if the things we have wished and hoped would be defined become clarified and we all react like this:

Elena - I don’t deal my chart. I deal with my life and astrology helps. I never look at anything in my chart and think, oh that’s a problem and I don’t understand people who do.

For example, I read around quite a bit. Message boards and I have scanned the astrology mailing lists for a dozen years and it’s very common someone will be going off on something in their chart, an aspect or a transit coming up and invariably they will be asking what it is going to do to them. What doom does this portend?

And I will tell you the truth even though it’s embarrassing. When I come across something like this John Prine’s song, ‘Dear Abby” plays in my head.

Prine sings (in Dear Abby’s voice):

You are what your are and you ain’t what you ain’t

Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood…”

You see? I think people take astrology and look for problems they are not even having and there are probably any number of reasons why. But I don’t operate like that. For me it is life first, astrology second. And no way am I going to spend time looking for the doom in my chart. Astrology should help solve problems, not create them.

How do you use astrology in everyday life?

Jupiter and Sagittarius are about expanding your horizons, especially when it comes to other cultures. H-Mart is the awesome Asian supermarket here. The place is huge and the produce is section especially grand. It is an enormously popular place to shop for people of all cultures and in fact they are now calling it an “international supermarket” which is just as well because although it is Asian owned everyone and their brother shops there.

So today I was in the quick check line and I was amused when the woman ahead of me made a great show of counting the items in her basket. She had 10 not 11 and though I could of cared less, I thought she was cute. I unloaded my stuff onto the conveyer belt behind hers and she scanned.

Reading posts like these scare the hell out of me! You seem so insightful, but in the same time a bit fatalistic. Are we really doomed to carry the burden of our charts forever?

Elena I am sorry the post scared the hell out of you. Fact is these blogs are about a specific individual and they represent my opinion of this one specific case, based not only on his chart but on my observations of him over the course of a couple of years. So my read on this should not be enlarged or projected or assigned to other people in any way.

As for being doomed, people are absolutely doomed if they have no drive or desire to change their lives when evidence suggests things aren’t working. But I never said this guy’s life was not working. It may be working perfectly for him! I am in no position to judge.

I can however offer my insight to my friend who prior to this conversation was operating under the illusion that this guy did not “pick her” because of some personal shortcoming. Well hell. This guy doesn’t pick anyone! Women pick him and they do so at their own peril.

So with this information my friend was able to get some clarity and let go the idea it was the shape of her butt that was the problem, and the illusion that some other differently shaped butt could come along and allow this guy to be a different human being. And this has been a great relief to her, you can imagine. Her butt is fine! She can think about other things now, and I decided to post this so others could hitchhike because this scenario is not exactly uncommon.

“So he wakes up with this gal in his bed, never mind who it is. And no matter what he does, he’s going to be up a creek and so is she. Because if he gets rid of her or if she just catches on to some weirdness and decides to get up and get out of there because it’s creepy, then he feels bad. Because he knows it’s not her. He knows there was nothing wrong with her.”

“Yep.”

“But what if she stays? And most women would, or would try to. They just slept with this guy, right? So not many are going to say, you know what? This was a mistake. Whoops! Most women wouldn’t want to have this in their head so instead they to try to have a relationship with him.”

“Yep.”

“And boy will it be great. They’ll get to walk around with him. They will go places with him. He’ll be wearing his frowny-face of course. You know. Poor me, I am stuck here with this woman. This woman I sleep with every night because I don’t know what else to do.”

She laughed.

“Yeah, he’s a victim. And people see it that way too. They see him out there all burdened with this woman who is obviously wrapped around his neck like a noose. Because the fact she is alive and breathing is enough to ruin his day. And quite oddly the sympathy flows where? It flows to him! Look. Poor guy has to drag that woman around. All these mother figures feel sorry for him as if he hasn’t the ability to cut her loose! As if has no responsibility for her presence in her life. Oh woe. She just showed up one day so everyone feel sorry for me.”

She laughed.

“But you get the idea. Best not the get in the bed, but if you do I hope you catch on fast. Because any relationship you want to have with this guy you will have to pretend it into existence because he’s not going to do a thing but wait for the inevitable. And eventually the girl does get away but can you imagine the pain and confusion?”

“It would be awful.”

“Yeah. So it turns out this guy is very bad news for being such an innocent. And who is the victim? Her? Him? What about the people who feel sorry for him and try to make his life better since he’s so sad? I guess they’re victims too. So you see what I think. I think stay the hell out of the bed in the first place. Because if you slip and fall into it… if you take his bait, well talk about a rabbit hole. You’ve just bought a one-way ticket to oblivion hell.”
