Just back from a workshop with Glenn Perry PhD… sort of a spur of the moment thing. Since having children, I don’t attend local astrology meetings so I am out of the loop as far as what is going on locally but I happened to hear of this workshop and couple days ago and immediately decided to attend.

I wanted to go very specifically to see Perry and I could have cared less what the workshop was about. Reason being, the chapter he wrote in, "Sexuality In The Horoscope".

I read that book when it first came out. I went clambering for it actually, considering I am me and I was treated to his bold treatment of Venus and Pluto in aspect.

Now I get so sick of flowery astrology. I get so sick of reading that which is safe. You may this or that. You might, la la la. Ugh! Just tell me what you know! And if it’s dark, then let it be dark! And this is what he does in that book and he does it without apology. So when I heard he was in town, I was enormously curious.

Because as a writer and as a human being and as an astrologer, I am aware people progress. So Perry wrote that chapter for that book a dozen years ago and I was intensely curious what became of him. ::smiles:: In what direction did he go? Is he twisted and crazy now? Is he a freak?

What I found is that he a calm professional which exactly how he came across a decade ago. He is inordinately comfortable with things deeply disturbing such as the chart of Mel Gibson… and what I noticed both then and now is he seems to have no need to distance himself from this type of energy. He does not hold the chart at arms length or wear a clothespin on his nose when handling the hot topic, nor does he seem to get off on it and I think this is inordinately rare.

I enjoyed his workshop and came home to purchase one of his self-published books, Essays In Psychological Astrology: Theory & Practice because I know exactly what I will find between the covers. I will find calm, rational, compassionate, non-judgmental and accurate information without inflation or an agenda attached and do you think this grows on trees? I don’t.
