Mercury Enters Aries - The Soldier and P

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries

aries mugAt some point over the last day or so, I realized I was not going to write anymore on the soldier story. I realized I come to some kind of stop for reasons unbeknownst to me. And I told the soldier (who has not read even one word of it) that I had written, what turns out to be 41,000 words about him. ::smiles:: Which is the better part of a book. He was shocked and I was amused.

“Did you identify me?”

“I don’t know. I don’t think so. I told them you were the best soldier in the world. As far as I’m concerned, that identifies you to anyone who wants to figure out who you are. But, no. I did not identify you. I left out places and stuff like that…”

“What did you call me?”

“The Soldier.”

He seemed to like that.

“I’m going to cut and paste all these blogs… with the pics and everything. I’ll give them to you, I said. Hopefully you won’t freak out too bad. Happy Birthday.”

~~~
So this is what I did. Satisfied I was at a stopping place; I cut and pasted all the blogs and tried to print them (110 pages) but ran out of ink. And due my nature, I had forgotten how I got going on this. So when I started to read the hard copy, I was really pleased to see I’d done it again… and done it subconsciously.
The story stops and starts in the same place. The soldier is talking about his philosophy of love. He does not think people should disturb two people who love each other. It’s a grand position to take… one he’s obviously held his entire life. And he says it at the beginning and again at the end, but in backwards fashion, which I thought was ultra cool. There is an integrity there. And outside of that, writing like this seems to be organic to me.
Because my book is the same way. It starts and stops at this point in the middle of the desert and I mean “middle of the desert”! There is no landmark, there would just be co-ordinates to identify this exact spot in the middle of the cactus. So the first chapter happens there and the last chapter some… 4 or 600 pages later, I don’t even remember, happens at the same point and this was not intentional. I didn’t even intend to write a book, so how could it be intentional? :-P
So anyway, I don’t know what this means other than it makes me feel good about there being a grand design. And I don’t know what the soldier with think or say or feel about this story, but I will let you know.
And as I was mulling all this, I realized that Mercury moved into Aries… a new beginning. Thanks.
    Although I am sad that you aren’t posting more of this story….it is a great way to end this whole story for the time.
    And whatever is going on with the stars…my words are hard to come by these days.
    Thanks, maheggo and you’re right. This is a stopping place, not the end by any stretch. I don’t really know what I am doing. Maybe I just need him to read this before I go any further. Seriously, I have no idea.
    I didn’t exactly plan to write 41,000 words just a few weeks… in my spare time no less and in the midst of crisis so I guess I just want to let it set awhile.
    And as for the stars, well it’s supernatural out there. Or super-normal as I used to say. The Moon is going into Aquarius and will set off the Saturn Neptune again… let’s see what that brings. thanks again.
    Elsa, I loved it. I’m so glad I found you! I read all knds of things, and your writing is so engaging. “This does not compute!” My fave Elsaism. And I can’t wait to buy your book.
    Your organic writing style is inspiring. As always, I’m sending love to you and your kids, with an extra little lump for your daughter. We’re rooting for her!
    I’m sad to see the soldier story end for now, too. I have really been enjoying it. I’m totally fascinated by him and the interesting aspects in your relationship. My own former soldier (Captain in Army Signal Corp when he left) and I have had several interesting conversations about special forces and the difficulties of love when one is in the military, inspired by your writing. We also spent some time trying to figure out who the soldier is. ;) It’s been fun. Thanks!
