Mars Conjunct Mercury Gives Blood F-A-S-T… And Boasts About It!

Astrology in real life…

bonfils give blood donationYou just can’t get away from your chart. And one of the things I like to do is draw attention to more obscure manifestations of various aspects because the more you understand of your nuance the more you come to appreciate the individual you are.

So anyway, I give blood. I am an obvious do-gooder so no surprise there. But with Mars (blood) conjunct Mercury I bleed efficiently (Mercury) and I can tell you exactly how efficiently because I time myself! And oh the glory when they got a new clock in there that marked the seconds.

So I can tell you I donated blood today, in my speed-bleeding fashion. And that I filled the bag in 4 minutes 28 seconds which is usual.

And I’m bragging about this because of the 9th house, see. That’s the Sadge house and everyone knows Sagittarians are full of themselves!! And they don’t care what you think about that either so, blah blah!

But the 9th house / Jupiter / Sagittarius also rules generosity which is another reason I spend time (Mercury) giving (9th house) blood (Mars). So what about you?

Any blood donors out there? Or on the flip, are you scared to death to give blood, or ineligible for some reason?
And where is your Mars, its sign and it’s aspects?

    I’m giving blood on Saturday!

I give blood (when they let me, I’m often low in whatever it is you can’t be low in). I have Mars conjunct Mercury in Sag in the 9th. Also Mars conjunct Moon, Midheaven and Neptune. And I hate needles, I can’t look. The finger prick is the worst part.

P.S. I think spellcheck replaced your ‘blood’ with ‘blog’. But you do give blog as well, lol.

Not only do I not like to give blood, the first and only time that I did, the Red Cross told me not to ever do it again. Very bad experiance. My blood is too thick and slow and I pass out after it’s been taken. Also, I’m ineligible anyway. (which I didn’t know when I gave blood) I was in a European country in the early 90’s which for some reason excludes me from being eligiable, and I’ve had two tatoos. So, it’s a good thing that I’m ineligiable, cause I would feel guilty if I could give and I didn’t cause it made me squimish or caused me to pass out.

I can’t find out definitively if I’m eligible or not, but it leans toward not - autoimmune disorder. Before that it was the tattoos and what not, so no, I don’t give blood. Not only do I not give blood for volunteering, I don’t even like to give it for lab work, and I’ve got a whole history that includes being nicknamed “turnip” by a nurse who used to be responsible for taking my blood.

My Mars? 2nd house Cancer. Conjunct Venus. Opposite Jupiter. Square Pluto.

My Mars is in Sag in the 10th house. I used to donate blood/platelets regularly until they made the rule about living in the UK since 1980 (which I did) because of Mad Cow Disease (which I don’t have, but oh well…)

As long as I don’t see the needle go into my arm, I’m fine, the sight of blood doesn’t bother me a bit.

I’m just here to say I enjoy how many times blood was replaced by blog in this post. Looks like mercury’s in the neighborhood of uranus again…

june - LOL! I am hoping for more brain cells in my next life! I am going in and try to fix this. Wish me luck!

  8. Elsa says on 3/29/07 at 3:27 pm:

june - I actually give blog and blood… and both of those are Mars Mercury. Apparently I write fast and careless. Who’d of thunk?

Thanks for the heads up… :)

Allison, I’m banned too! Must’ve been Mad Cow Disease, UK in the 1990s (which would suit me to a tee, as I am a Taurus and insane), then 2001 with foot and mouth (there’s my Sag rising!)…poor British livestock!

For years I gave blood regularly, apparently my veins are perfect for it. When I was poor I also sold plasma. My Mars is in 9th house Aries.

  11. Doreen Gordon says on 3/29/07 at 4:25 pm:

I have Mercury conjunct Mars in Gemini so I, too, give blood fast and also blog. But, alas, I have Sun square Neptune so I’m convinced that giving blood makes me weak. Thus, I rarely do it and then feel guilty that I don’t.

  12. Carrieg says on 3/29/07 at 5:26 pm:

I used to give all the time but then had one bad experience a couple of years ago and haven’t given since. I need to get over it though because I found out I have iron loading disease (well I have the genes for it - it doesn’t usually manifest in woman until after menopause) and the only way to keep it from getting bad is to give blood regularly.

  13. alovlylife says on 3/29/07 at 8:01 pm:

Not a blood giver here. Nope. I give my time and money. Fundraisers? Im the gal. Need a ride? Me. Need a shoulder? me. Surrogate mom? Sure.. Ill even do that. Want my blood? No.

  14. kharma says on 3/29/07 at 8:46 pm:

I was phobic of blood needles for a good portion of my life but when having difficulty in my life (and worried about being able to finish college) I promised God that if he would help me through things that i’d donate blood for now on. I’ve Mars in 3rd house in Aquarius conjunct North Node by 1 degree. This is trine Libra Venus & Uranus (11th house) by 1 degree and saturn by 8 degrees (7th house). So when something means alot to me, I try REAL hard to get it. Anyhow, I had faith (Neptune/Jupiter conjunct 1st) and I got my degree :)

  15. Amber says on 3/30/07 at 1:19 am:

I don’t give blood. They can’t get to my veins easily. It takes them 5 tries, 3 nurses and half an hour at least. It runs in the family. Things like blood pressure are difficult to measure too. I am near to clinically dead :-)

  16. Amber says on 3/30/07 at 1:20 am:

mars in the 4th house in libra conjunct venus

  17. Becca says on 3/30/07 at 8:24 am:

I used to give blood fairly regularly, starting (with parental permission) in high school; then one time about five years ago they turned me down as anemic and with one thing and another I haven’t been back. I need to take that up again, or at least find out if I’m eligible now.

Mars in Capricorn, 12th house. I don’t bleed fast, but I bleed steadily.

  18. wyrdling says on 7/31/08 at 9:26 am:

hah, that explains why i had such an awful time! they always have horrible trouble finding a “good” vein. the last time i gave blood the guy poked me three times before he got something decent… and then afterwards i spent the rest of the day trying not to pass out. wasn’t much fun.

maybe it’d be better now that i’m not liable to blow away in a stiff breeze anymore.

uhm. mars square neptune. (his only aspect.)

  19. wyrdling says on 7/31/08 at 9:27 am:

even for an IV they have trouble. and i’m not wanting to let them do it again (”just in case” anyway) if i ever have another kid. the scar still hurts with changing weather five years later.

  20. Lita says on 12/27/08 at 12:15 pm:

I have Mars conjunct Mercury in Cancer, trine Pluto in Scorpio and opposition Neptune in Capricorn. I enjoy giving blood, although I don’t bleed that quickly. (I used to want to be a doctor, and needles and blood don’t scare me at all.) Unfortunately, I can’t do it very frequently because I tend to get anemic afterwards. :(
