The Soldier and P - 26: Mad, Pissed, Furious and Steamin’!
Catch up here - Love, Respect and Do No Harm
Taurus… stubborn.
“I can’t believe you have all these pictures, P. I don’t remember you ever taking a picture. And I can’t believe you kept them. I don’t have any pictures of you. Not a one! The only time I have gotten to see a picture of you for all these years is when I visit my mother.”
“What?”
“She has a picture of you.”
“She does? You’re kidding. How did she get a picture of me?”
“She took it.”
“What? How? How did she take my picture? I never met your mother.”
“What? The hell you didn’t. You don’t remember meeting my mother? Oh my lord,” he said with a huge twang. “She doesn’t remember meeting my mother.”
“Um…”
“Well she remembers meeting you, that’s for sure. And she did take your picture. She wanted a picture of us together, but she couldn’t get it, because I refused to stand next to you.” He laughed.
“What? Why not?”
“Yep. I refused to have my picture taken with you. I absolutely refused.”
I laughed nervously. I hate when he remembers things I don’t and it happens all the time. “Why? Go on, tell me.”
“I was pissed, P. I was so pissed at you. I was beyond pissed. It’s really the only time I can remember ever being mad at you, but believe I wasn’t messing around. I was mad as hell at you. I was mad as a hornet and there was no way I was going to stand next to you and have my picture taken, even if it was my mother, asking!” he said. “And you know I’d do anything for my mother so that ought to tell you how pissed off I was. I was furious! I was steamin’. I was absolutely irate.”
“Why?”
“I already told you why. I’ve only been mad at you once. You had called me a cock,” he said.
I busted up. “I called you a cock and now you won’t stand next to me?” I roared laughing. “You gotta be kidding me. So you mother is there?”
“Yeah. She’s there and my sister was there too. And my mother had her camera out and she wanted to take our picture together but I wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t stand by you, P. I refused. She kept asking. She practically begged to have a picture of us together but there was just no way I was going to stand near you. I wasn’t going to stand near you then, nor ever again.”
“I see.”
“P, someone would have had to kill me to get me to stand next to you and if you killed me, I wouldn’t be standin’ would I? I’d be lying on the floor dead. And since none of the three of you were willing to kill me, I got my way.
“This, because I called you a cock?”
“Yeah.”
“I see. Well understanding this, I would have to say that was an error,” I said. “Poor choice of… word.”
He laughed. “Hell yes, it was a poor choice of word. I was ready to swear you off forever over that. Matter of fact I did swear you off. For the rest of this lifetime,” he said proudly. “And for any lifetimes to come, for that matter. I was through with you, Elsa P. I was finished with you forever. For every lifetime into infinity, there was going to be no more standing next to Elsa P… for me!”
“Well I’m sorry. I am sorry I called you a cock. You’re not a cock,” I said.
“Well good. I’m glad you figured that out, P. I am not a cock and I do forgive you for saying I was. I have never for the life of me figured out what possessed you to call me a cock. I’m sure you just lost your mind there for a minute. But it’s okay now. It’s been 20 some years and I am no longer mad you about that. And since I was never mad about anything else, I guess I’m not mad at you at all.”

uh, yeah… but it’s rare. and if somebody genuinely apoligized for calling me a cock I’d get over it promptly. but he didn’t tell you what he was pissed about, did he? I probably wouldn’t have. I figure I’ll get over it and why rock the boat.
I have and do but eventually figure it’s my principle, not theirs, so they are never going to see it my way no matter how hard I try to explain it (and i have triieeeeeeedddddddd, believe me, it never works for me!).
