Perils of Being Aquarius… and the Pluto Transit to my Natal Moon
Ask the Collective…
Now I am not an Aquarian, but both my parents are UBER-Aquarian so I know quite a bit about the sign. And my editor, HQ who keeps a blog was jerking my chain today. He accomplished this by posting a blog using my language. Yeah. Slick.
So I saw this, ignored it and left a comment. Because I don’t own the English language, right? People can use whatever words they want, whenever they want, however, etc. And I know that. But after I commented, he emailed to bring my attention to his craft. Continue reading Perils of Being Aquarius… and the Pluto Transit to my Natal Moon

The Soldier and P - 38: Who Knew?
Catch up here - Love, Respect and Do No Harm
“Well this was part of the problem,” I said. “You told me all this stuff when we were kids. You told me what you had done and what you were going to do. You told me who you were. You told me what your name was about a million times. You know how you love to say and shout your name.”
“Yeah, I do. I can’t help it. I like my name, P. I have a great name.”
“Well I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. I like your name too. I like my name as much as you like yours and I think it’s good if you like your name. Your name is who you are. If more people liked their name and were proud of it, they would probably be a lot nicer. You know. If you like your name and if you like yourself, you are a lot less likely to run around making misery for other people, but anyway when we were kids you told me all this stuff you had done and were going to do.”
“Yep.”
“And I of course, told other people. I talked about my boyfriend, obviously. What else am I going to do? I’m me. I spread information. I tell stories and so I did.” Continue reading The Soldier and P - 38: Who Knew?

Scared She’s a Lesbian: Venus, Mercury and Pluto Conjunct In Scorpio
Dear Elsa,
I have been dealing with this fear that I could be a lesbian.
I am 19 and my whole life I have been straight. I have always loved men and dreamed of being with a man but then these obsessive thoughts of “what if I am gay?” popped up, because I haven’t had a bf in 3 years. I started looking at straight and lesbian porn to see which one I like better. I found them both arousing but I was like I almost found the lesbian porn to be more arousing but then I burst into tears because I really don’t want to be gay.
I mean is that even possible? To randomly turn gay? Please help.
Scared
United States
Dear Scared,
No, I don’t think people randomly turn gay. I think sexuality falls on a continuum, pure heterosexual on one end, pure homosexual on the other and everyone including you falls somewhere in between. So I don’t think this is so much about where you fall in that range, as it is about your fear over where you fall in that range.
Fear is Saturn-ruled and the antidote for Saturn is Jupiter. So I think this would be best addressed by facing your fear (Saturn) and the best way to do that is to expand or adopt a new perspective (Jupiter). So how about I give you one of those and hopefully you can hitchhike on some of my ideas and this will ease for you in some way.
Now as far as I am concerned, a person’s sexuality is about as important as their hair color and in the grand scheme of things… do we care if a person has blonde hair or brown? It is the quality of person that counts, not the color of their hair or their sexual preference. When the house sells next door, what I want is a “good neighbor”. I want a kind, considerate person to buy that house and I don’t care who they sleep with. I also don’t care what color hair they have. Can you see the logic of this? Can you see how sane this is?
Now here’s where you make a leap. If your neighbor’s sexuality is irrelevant to the quality of person they are, why would your situation be any different?
And what if your neighbor (a woman) decided to sleep with a man one night and a woman the next, but she’s a great neighbor? What if she feeds and walks your dog when you go on vacation. What if she brings you soup when you’re sick and you just in general, like her? Considering this, how much time do you think you should spend trying to figure out if she’s a LESBIAN? I mean, who cares!
And here’s the point, in case it’s not obvious. Right now you think if you’re a lesbian, this means the sky is going to fall. But in reality it’s a non-event. It is your FEAR that is causing all the grief. So how about you just face it head on?
I have no idea if you are a lesbian - but if you are, then what is going to happen? Nothing is going to happen that you do not allow and consent to. There may be people out there who devalue homosexuals but guess what? I am a heterosexual and I am “devalued” every day of my life! People have all kinds of trouble with me but it’s only relevant if I make it relevant and I don’t make it relevant.
I figure anyone who doesn’t want a good neighbor because of their hair color or their sexuality is a stone cold idiot, so this is one thing this crisis could do for you. You may delve into this lesbian thing, and find out you’re in fact heterosexual but also find out it doesn’t matter. Because you know what? It doesn’t matter. Just be a person you’re proud to be and the rest will fall into place.
Good luck.

The Wish List Book, Violence and Libra Who Can’t Decide…
Astrology in Real Life…
Now I wrote that last soldier blog a couple weeks ago but didn’t post it because of the violence in it. And I have been sitting on several other blogs for the same reason. The Art, Astrology… Leonard Cohen bit morphed to being about “instant karma” which morphed to a blog about the backlash people suffer when they answer violence with violence. And after that, I continued to write.
And as I continued to write… more and more violence spilled from my Mars Mercury pen! And what am I supposed to do about this?
Well, it’s very hard for Libra to decide! Mars conjunct Mercury is going to be interested in violence. And placed in Libra it is going to be just as interested in NON-violence. Because of the balance, see? And not only can I see both sides when it comes to taking a position on violence, I can argue either one of them.
::sighs::
So sometimes I think I should curb the writing about violence on this blog. But then I think this can’t be right. Look how much you know about it, I say to myself. You have freakish knowledge about this, Elsa!
So anyway, in six months, I have asked for (and received) two obscure books on guess what? Violence! And yesterday as I held the new book in my hand, I realized (for the 1100th time) you just can’t get away from who you are.
Because the guy who wrote this book was terrorized in all ways, he was nearly killed writing his first book, but he still did it. Point being this is his gig. Nobody can write his books but him because he is inexplicably tied and involved with the shadow side and it makes little difference, his comfort level with this situation.
So anyway, after I got the book I decided it was no big deal to post the last blog. After all, this is what I do.
Do you ever struggle being the person you know you are?

Speaking of Giving: The Amazon Wish List and Mars Mercury in the 9th House
Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…
I started keeping an Amazon Wish List about six months ago. And I think the Amazon Wish List is one of the best ideas ever because it allows people to do nice things for other people. Did you know you can search a person’s name and pull up their wish list? I learned that from a Scorpio Mars.
So anyway, I don’t want much. I think I’m just a born ascetic because the things I value are almost all ethereal. It’s that or just the fact I grew up with nothing, which never bothered me and it still doesn’t. However, occasionally I want a book. Double Cancer Woman Suffers Problems With Male Authority Figures At Work, Sexual Harrassment
Dear Elsa,
Why have my career choices been so horrible?
I hate to play victim, but it seems at each job I am on there is some drama surrounding it. Most of the time I don’t work well with male supervisors and don’t long on the job. Either the male supervisor/coworkers belittle me, or they sexually harass me.
My current position is in a laboratory and when I took the job I was told by HR the people there are extremely weird. Boy, were they underestimating their choice of words. The 20 months that I’ve been on the job, my fellow incompetent coworkers have made several serious and false accusations about my work (my supervisor has been kind enough to stick up for me, because she is sane and knows my work is great in comparison to the other coworkers). I’ve been sexually harassed and the boss of my supervisor (male) is intimidated by my work questions and chooses to act a like a jerk, because he’s afraid of not being able to answer any of my questions accurately or correctly.
My boyfriend who also works at the same place hates to hear me rant, but at the same time he has witness the harassment I have had to endure by fellow coworkers. The more I write about the fraction of my experiences here, the more I see how bad it is. HOWEVER, because each job I’ve had becomes increasingly worse (and I’ve had many), I am afraid to step out and find another job.
I would like to know if this just a curse in my chart or are there solutions? I’ve been told I have a Kite pattern which includes MC. I thought Kites were good? Why is it not helping me now?!?!?
Trouble at Work
United States
Dear Trouble,
When a scenario constellates over and over in your life, it’s because there is something you are just not getting. There is something you are supposed to uncover or discover or overcome… or something! It is not random. How can it be random when the same situation sets up time and time again, and when the common denominator in each scenario is you? Obviously you have some play here.
If this is not clear to you, just imagine a woman who has a man who beats her. The man before this one beat her, and the one before that one beat her too. Eventually she’s bound to see the pattern and get to the point where you are now. She’ll realize that it’s a pretty safe bet if she quits this man and gets a new man, he is going to beat her unless what? Unless she figures this out!
So you are having problems with male authority figures who I would suppose are acting as surrogate dads. In other words, you’re dealing with a father/daughter dynamic here. You are also dealing with a mother/son dynamic because that’s how these things work. The players go back and forth. And considering you’re a double Cancer, the astrology supports my theory; with this much Cancer in a chart, there is going to be parent/child theme in all your relationships, period.
So if you want to resolve this and break your pattern, I would start thinking along these lines. You are recreating your relationship with your father in some way, shape or form. Figure out how and you’ll have some leverage around finding a way to rewrite this script.
Good luck.

The Soldier and P - 37: Getting In Trouble With Guns, Knives and Shrapnel - Mars Saturn in Aspect
Catch up here - Love, Respect and Do No Harm
Speaking of Mars, Mercury… and Saturn, we talk (Mercury) about this stuff.
Saturn = skin
Mars = All the dangerous sharp-edged metal war stuff
“It’s your energy, P. Your energy calms me down and fast. It’s like a phenomenon. So when we were together I’d be all calm and then every time we broke up I always went out and got in a bunch of trouble.” Continue reading The Soldier and P - 37: Getting In Trouble With Guns, Knives and Shrapnel - Mars Saturn in Aspect

Mars Conjunct Mercury Gives Blood F-A-S-T… And Boasts About It!
Astrology in real life…
You just can’t get away from your chart. And one of the things I like to do is draw attention to more obscure manifestations of various aspects because the more you understand of your nuance the more you come to appreciate the individual you are.
So anyway, I give blood. I am an obvious do-gooder so no surprise there. But with Mars (blood) conjunct Mercury I bleed efficiently (Mercury) and I can tell you exactly how efficiently because I time myself! And oh the glory when they got a new clock in there that marked the seconds.
So I can tell you I donated blood today, in my speed-bleeding fashion. And that I filled the bag in 4 minutes 28 seconds which is usual.
And I’m bragging about this because of the 9th house, see. That’s the Sadge house and everyone knows Sagittarians are full of themselves!! And they don’t care what you think about that either so, blah blah!
But the 9th house / Jupiter / Sagittarius also rules generosity which is another reason I spend time (Mercury) giving (9th house) blood (Mars). So what about you?
Any blood donors out there? Or on the flip, are you scared to death to give blood, or ineligible for some reason?
And where is your Mars, its sign and it’s aspects?

Book Review: How to Be a Great Astrologer - The Planetary Aspects Explained by James Braha
Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…
I openly admire astrologer, James Braha. Having studied astrology since I was eight years old, I have read several hundred astrology books over these last decades and when you do this, certain things emerge. Some books stand out and in other cases it’s the writer that captures your attention and I mean for good or ill.
I like a variety of astrologer / authors for a variety of reasons. I like some writers because they are concise to the point of cutting. Others are funny. Other impress with the sheer breath of their knowledge, others with their humility but with all this, I consider James Braha to be in his own class. And the thing that kills me is I am pretty sure a lot of western astrologers are unfamiliar with his books.
They are unfamiliar because Braha identifies as a Hindu or Vedic astrologer and I am think might turn the average western astrologer towards another book on the shelf which is too bad because odds are, it’s going to be inferior.
