Conversations With Denis: Are You Attracted To Him? Mars Conjunct Mercury, Venus Square Neptune
Astrology In Real Life…
“So you’re attracted to him, Ilsa?” Denis asked. “You like that guy?”
I snorted. “Well yeah. Are you crazy?” Denis was on the crosstrainer next to me and I turned to look at him. “Hell yes, I’m attracted to him.” I felt my face become flush. “Look at me for Godsakes. It’s a little hard to deny, don’t you think? I am freakishly attracted to that guy, that is all there is to say.”
He looked at me. “Yes, it would be hard to deny. I still just can’t believe you’re attracted to that man.”
“Well I am. I’m sorry, Denis. But that guy looks like a total taste treat to me. He pretty much makes me crazy with how he looks.”
“Well then, Elsa.”
“Well then nothing, Denis. I don’t think anything will ever come of it.’
“You don’t?”
“No. I can be attracted until I am blue. Doesn’t mean I have to do anything. That I’ll do anything…”
“That’s true, Ilsa. You don’t have to act.”
“I don’t have to act and I can’t imagine I will. Because just look at the weirdness around this. My God, could it possibly be weirder?”
“Not to me.”
“Right. But if you want to know if I am attracted to him… well it would be hard for me to see that guy and not slobber just a little.”
He laughed, so I laughed, so he laughed some more. And I thought about explaining how Mars conjunct Mercury functions and how Venus Neptune functions. But I decided we’d spent enough time on this so I finished this conversation with a shrug.
“Poor me,” I said. “Poor, poor me and what I have to go through. It’s almost always ridiculous, Denis. My whole life is like this, it’s a joke.”
Have you ever had a strong attraction to someone… you’re both available but you just know you need to steer clear? What happened?

Hah, I’ve thought about writing you a letter about mine, but I think the answer to the problem is pretty obvious even without astrology. I’m 28, he’s 18- it just can’t happen! It’s doomed from the start. If he was ten years older it could work out beautifully because we seem to oddly be on the same wavelength- but, he’s not. It’s a real shame the first person of my type to come along in 3 years is too young. God clearly laughs at me
What happened? Well, we’re in a class together now, so after that runs out next month, I don’t know if I’ll ever see him again or not. It is a possibility because the teacher runs another group that he and I have both expressed interest in applying to join. I submitted my application, I don’t know if he has gone through with it.
Either way, I have been trying to cool it with saying “Me too!” to everything he says that I’m thinking, trying to not eye him so obviously…and then somehow we keep saying the same things in class half the time anyway. Oy. But it can’t happen, and I’ll make sure I don’t hang around with him alone or something so we don’t get to know each other better out of the class situation.
Jennifer, maybe it’s okay to try it as an experiment? “Your type” evidently doesn’t come around that often. Why not go for it, try it and see what happens? Some men are wise beyond their years.
Knowing that I should steer clear and actually doing it are totally different things. I don’t know that I ever resisted temptation when I was single - generally to my regret. When attraction went againt my better judgement, it always won. Sad but true.
hah! totally unrelated, BUT! Neil Gaiman on Pigs.

and i thought yes, that describes Elsa to a “T”!
Um yes, and the results were as follows:
1) tons of sex
2) more sex
3) first orgasm
4) they have been an ever lasting feature
5) the romance fizzled fast and I was SO SAAAAAAD, boo hoo hoo!
Least I learned to make myself happy, he he
You’re probably going to laugh at this - but –
I am a strong believer that the planets have to align and for a sign to appear before I would do anything related to men - like maybe bells ringing.
I just think that it’s meant to be, whether he’s 18 and your 28, it’s going to happen.
So I try not to fight what life hands me. If I get hurt in the process, so be it.
That’s how life teaches us to be strong.
Ooh, Sharon, that’s so wise! I wish I had read that back when I was 18. Sometimes I fight what Life gives me, man. Thanks for that!
Hi Marly. I am not sure it’s really wisdom, but I got tired of going down kicking and screaming
Sharon’s link doesn’t work. Is it Mercury retch or intended???
Hello Elsa. I hope it’s not intended….
Blogger Beta glitch and they are fixing the problem. And I hope soon….
Jennifer, I’ll give you an example. It’s hard to meet some people again. Sometimes when I see a stranger and am curious about something about them, I won’t hesitate to ask even if it seems weird. Poor example I know, but at the very least you can talk and be this guy’s friend. Talking is the way to enjoy someone incredible.
