Gemini! Astrology and Being Of Two Minds
Astrology in Real Life…
When I went to New York, I brought two books to read on plane. Michael Lutin’s, “SunShines: The Astrology of Being Happy” and “Why They Kill: The Discoveries of a Maverick Criminologist”
by Richard Rhodes. I was stowing them seat back in front of me when it hit me how spastic it was even though I am very interested in being happy and murder and mayhem.
Generally I would read about one thing or the other. I’d be on a binge. But I read the books, chapter of this, chapter of that all the way to New York and back and I don’t know. I figured this must be a reflection of the (newly) progressed Gemini in my chart because I was having no problem going back and forth between subjects. I was positively deft and felt so light and detached about it all.
“Oh! Well that’s is interesting. Let’s look at this other thing…” See? Like I’m two people, talking to each other!
And I have no Gemini at all in my natal chart… or planets in the 3rd so this is all very marvelous for me to observe.
Do you have Gemini in your chart? How does it manifest?

Gemini in Venus, I don’t have favorites. Whether this be colors, music, food, types of women, books, furniture, architecture, whatever deals with love, comfort and beauty. I am very particular about my likes and dislikes but I just can’t make a favorites list. I stumble when a person asks me those kinds of questions, and it ends of turning into a dissertation.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Gemini asc. Everyone thinks I’m an airhead. Far from it and people are often shocked and taken aback when they figure out the real me. I can float and talk about any subject. I learn it too. I can have 30 or so tabs open on my browser windows, be on IM, on the phone, etc. etc.
I was once described as an iceberg. Almost nothing above the surface but huge stuff floating below. Somewhat accurate. I can be very very intense once you get past the “oh, I know that” that is the Gemini having curiosity about everything and having already researched it or asked the most pertinent questions about the subject.
gemini is my sunsign. C’s description sounds a lot like me. i don’t really know myself.
BTW I gather you like visual images because you add pictures to most your posts. So you’ll probally enjoy this livejournal image transloader:
http://www.iamthecheese.com/ljimages.php
It shows the most recent images uploaded to livejournal (don’t use if you have a 56k connection) and you can put the limit up to 250 images every refresh (the default is 25 images). Since there are millions of people from around the world who use livejournal new images are constantly being added to livejournals.
Um…I don’t have any planets in gemini perse…except my jupiter is at 00′ cancer..so it’s right their…conjuncting my sun in aquarius. I have mercury conjunct my ascendant though, I believe giving me mercurian qualities…like I talk and act like I’m an expert on many things…but that could also be an aquarian thing…eh.
oh mistake..i mean jupiter is trine my sun =p
simstim, thanks for the livejournal link- that is cool!
Gemini sun, Moon conjunct Mercury. Boy does it manifest.
Mars in Gemini. I fight with my words and logic. Playful banter is something I enjoy. I’m a jack of all trades and want to know everything about everything. I require mental stimulation to keep interest in a partner, and have a tendency to be fickle about things and people.
I find this somewhat incompatible with my more subjective Piscean Venus, but I’m trying to work with it.
Venus and Jupiter in Gemini in 10th House. I can never stick to one thing…has made it impossible to pick just one career…I love and am good at a number of things, plus I have a low boredom threshhold which conflicts with my Cancer Sun need for security! Only very interesting, very complex, very gypsy, very intelligent, very FLEXIBLE people and situations hold my attention for very long. A book has to be super excellent for me to read all the way through…I’ve made it half-way through half a dozen over the past year and have simply lost interest. I end up reading the same page over and over again while thinking about other things. Interestingly, more than one person has said that I come across like an Aquarius…
Also, films better not have one iota of predictability or I’ll start thinking about doing my nails. On the other hand, if a film works for me, I can watch it a gazillion times, and that’s the kind of flick I LOVE…one I can deconstruct from now till doomsday, and never run out of new observations about it. How much do I love Quentin Tatantino films? I’ve just about memorized the entire screenplays to 3 of them from watching them so many times!!
Elsa! I love your blog and would love to exchange links.
The oddest way in which Gemini manifested in my chart:
I have a Gemini DS & Moon with Saturn in the 3rd. Moon is trine Mercury, and Saturn is square Mars in the 1st. Indications of head injury.
I had a photographic memory and was very quick, then in 1994 was in a cab. The cab driver ran a VERY red light and we were broadsided which left me with a head injury. It manifested in losing a huge chunk of memory, especially people who I knew. It was all doom and gloom from the doctors, but I was determined to retrain my brain (which I did).
How literal is this? I get to live a life through two completely different perspectives. Almost as two different people. Prior I was fairly anal, now I can let things go. Literally, there have been two of me!
Top off? I have a Sun/Neptune Conjuction in Scorpio. The cab driver had received 3 DUIs in a 24 hour period and lost his license for 5 years prior to this. He only had his license back for 3 days before the accident.
Oh, 3 planets in gem: moon, sat, ven and many prog planets in virgo…so quite mercurial. My gem manifests via vacillation and can bounce as fast as a hummingbird flies sometimes. Generally, I tend to manage this pretty well (and does me good at work, my boss loves my multi-tasking behavior!)…but I find I need regular exercise to keep myself in check and mellow. I wish I were more grounded…I have many cap and virgo friends hence. I also have quite a bit of fixed signs, so dunno.
ta ta and very happy holidays!
Sun, Mercury, Venus in 9th plus Uranus in 10th conj MC, all in Gemini. Chiron in Sag in 3rd. And Virgo Ascendant. Tend to get very nervously wound up, need a regular routine and exercise/yoga. Good at languages, lived abroad for many years. Many changes of (secretarial) jobs. Have recently trained in Reiki healing.
Gem. 11th house, occupied by Jupiter, which is opposite 5th house Venus. Almost all my acquaintances when I was growing up made war on my children, at which point I had to chase them off. (the acquaintances). If I did not have any other reasons, this alone convinced me to pay attention to astrology.
Gemini sun, Mercury, Jupiter and North Node, all in my 7th house. My internet browser opens to three home windows and there are seldom less than three chat windows open at any given time.
My dog ate my cell phone recently. It was replaced within 24 hours. I was so twitchy for that one day.
I love what Elsa says about Gemini’s looking around the room for someone more interesting when they’re on a date. I do try to be subtle about it.
Mars in Virgo in the 10th and Saturn in Pisces in the 4th square off against my Mercury. I can multi-task with the best of them, but when I’m working (grooming dogs) I wear hearing protection so I can concentrate on what I’m doing. Occasionally I tuck my cell phone under the ear muff thing and keep on working.
Did I mention that I talk alot? Hope you enjoy your visit to Gemini land Elsa.
*chuckle* Gemini sun and ascendant. Very much what you see is what you get, and what you see is me. Talking. Bluetooth headset in my ear more often than not. And if I’m not talking, some random person has come up to me to start a conversation. I’m probably texting on my cell phone too …. erm, yeah. Heh.
I have the moon in Gemini sextile Mercury. It means that when I get upset, I figure, “Hey, I’m already upset, so I might as well take this time to talk about everything that’s ever bothered me ever.” Also, because my moon is sextile my Mercury, Sun, Venus, and Mars in Leo, I tend to talk a lot. About myself. XD
I’m gemini Sun. I find it hard to sum up what i am.. and a lot of what others say above are true.
Jack of all trades, more serious than what people expect me to be, love intelligent banter (i seriously prefer a lover who i can talk to than someone who’s goodlooking, something that led my friends to say i have a fat fetish), have a pathological need to multi-task etc.
happy holidays to everyone
…umm i have sun, mercury, mean node in 3H; moon, mars, and ASC in gemini. i don’t own a cell/mobile phone, in fact i don’t enjoy talking on the phone most of the time. but i think i may have an internet addiction…
every now and then i find i become quite active when it comes to keeping in touch with my siblings, mom, relatives, and close friends. i simply have to know how everyone is doing.
maybe it is because i use buses, subways, and trains frequently to keep connected to others, i have noticed that i have little difficulty in figuring out public transportation systems of other places i visit. in addition, i enjoy looking at and reading maps and have a good eye for remembering landmarks, whether travelling by foot or vehicle.
I have the North Node in Gemini, four planets in the third house, and four in the ninth.
I never have less than three books going at the same time. Or tabs on a browser. Unless I’m in silent mode (or reading), I usually have both NPR and CNN on. The only thing I don’t do is talk on the phone. I hate the telephone.
I have Venus in Gemini in the 12th house. I love to read and I love movies. I am very good with languages (although I have zero musical ear). I can be very good at lighting-fast banter (I also talk a mile a minute and walk very very fast and am very agile on the streets of New York). If a man bores me, he ain’t gonna get far with me. I can’t even understand the idea of having sex with a guy who is good-looking but dumb. Even my quick flings have been great conversationalists! I’m also bicultural, which kinda means having two personalities.
On the other hand, I HATE multi-tasking. Absolutely hate it. Although I am very absent-minded, once I’m focused on something, I hate to be interrupted. (I will actually get angry if someone keeps talking to me while I’m reading, especially if the book is good. And if the book is really really good, it won’t matter–I won’t even hear you. I have the ability to completely and utterly block out anything that doesn’t hold my attention and I can do this for hours.) I usually finish a book. NOw that I think about it, my Venus/Pluto square must counter some of that Gemini flightiness… Oh, and I am also very monogamous in love. Intense lightness is how I’d describe it.
Marly - you did it again! intense lightness!!! That’s perfect. Great words!
Thanks
I have gemini as a descendant. I have no clue what that means. Ive tried once to look it up to understand its meaning, to no avail.
Thank you, darling C.!
