This has got to go down in history as a grand example of “Man plans and God laughs…”

I went to the gym today. I was on the crosstrainer when I saw the Salesmen come in. He was wearing his yellow and blue flowered shorts which… amuse me. I figure he’s a Taurus, so decorated… and an Aquarius Moon so could care less what people think of his pants. I was on the end of the row of machines and a gal was next to me, so you know what that means. He can’t workout next to me. I can’t quiz him so I figure we just have to leave this to the universe as he greets me with a wave and a “Merry Christmas” before heading into the locker room.

Sure enough, the gal next to me hops off her machine… he comes out of the locker room and hops on the machine, but not before asking permission. Because maybe you remember I cussed this guy up and down once. “No problem,” I said. “She’s gone.” And as soon as he got on there, I started to probe. Because when I decide to do something I do it. And I knew it would make no difference. There is no way I am going to offend him, because some on. I know this chart!

So I ask a question about his past, but come up empty. No Mars Saturn in his answer. Drat! So I was just doing my work out trying to think of my next entry when he looked at me all… bluntly, and said, “Every time I see you, I just want to grab you and kiss you.”

“Oh,” I said, smiling and blushing because I couldn’t help it. “Well that does not surprise me.”

He smiled. “Why? Because all men feel like that about you?”

“No! No, that’s not it. It’s much more personal. It’s very personal to you and how we interact…”

I explained I was an astrologer. “You told me the year you were born, remember? And I figured out the rest. Because I know someone born when you were. I have known him for 30 years! And your energy is very similar. So I pretty much figured this out and then I asked you. Remember I asked you when your birthday was?”

“I am surprised you remembered that.”

“Of course I remembered that. I’m an astrologer so this is what I do. I never forget a chart.Ever. So anyway, I know quite a bit about you, and about what goes on between us unbeknownst to you. I understand this pretty well, I may as well tell you.”

“That makes me nervous.”

“I don’t blame you. How could it not? But that’s okay. You can just be intrigued. Nothing wrong with being intrigued. There are worse things,” I said.

He nodded.

” I gotta go,” I said, wrapping up my workout. “Have a good workout out. And a merry Christmas,” I added.

He wished me same and I took off out of there. Over to the mats to do my balancing hijinks. A half hour later I was leaving the gym after the steam room. He was still on the cross-trainer but hopped off when he saw me leaving. He was dripping sweat.

“Here,” he said, shoving a piece of paper into my hand. It’s the second time he’s given me his phone number. I never called the first time. “I am moving back to the desert, January,” he said.

Did I mention he was born on the same base where the soldier was stationed when I met him? It’s my home town.

“Oh,” I said. I was surprised. He’d said something to this effect but I thought he meant he wanted to move back at some time in the future.”

“If you ever get to town, call me. Come over for a BBQ, you and your family. I would really like to see you…”

I was so stunned. It was nice, that’s all. “Thank you,” I stammered. “Thank you very much.”

“You’re welcome. Call me anytime. I am going to keep that number and I would really like to hear from you and see you again if I can.”
