So the 2003 box with the songs devastated me but in a way that was glorious. I have always been able to admire the truck that hits me, provided it’s worthy. This is so much cleaner than being pecked to death by ducks, as described by Maya Angelou in a interview I saw once. Ducks being people who prattle on, taking small bits of your soul until you’re completely compromised. No thank you. Send me the clean kill. And so he did.

And I went down. And I was having a Pluto transit to my Sun back then, so I had to die and it had to come from somewhere. And I had some pride (Sun) about this too. I got killed by a professional! I got the sharpest knife around which is a lot better that getting killed by some a stray bullet fired by some yahoo, right? I thought so.

And now it’s three years later and the new box has arrived with the movie and the other stuff.

“Like that movie, P? Did you?” he asked.

“I did. I can’t believe you found that movie. I can’t believe it even exists.”

“Yeah, well either can I. I’d heard of it, but I’d never seen it. Then one night I was flipping the channels and it was on, so I watched. I couldn’t believe it. As soon as it was over, I went online and immediately bought two copies. One for me and one for you.”

“Yeah? That was nice. Thanks.”

“Well, I bought them a couple months ago. Two or three months ago and when they got here and I started watching mine. I’ve watched it…I’ve watched that movie at least 20 times.”

“You’re kidding? In like, 2 months?” I laughed.

“Yes, I have. I’ve seen it 20 times at least. So I’ve been watching mine. I’ve seen it over and over and every time I see it I see something new or I figure something out. And I think about you. I wonder what Elsa would say about this. I wonder what she’d say about that. But I didn’t know if I should send it or not. I just didn’t know.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah. I had to really think about it because I didn’t know what it would do to you. I just don’t want to mess you up and since there was no way to be sure that wouldn’t happen, I just waited. I didn’t want to take a chance. I know how you are and I just don’t want you to get hurt, P. I don’t want a repeat of 2003, that’s for sure. So I am trying to be as careful as I can.”

“Oh well, I understand. But don’t worry. I keep telling you this is not 2003. Things are very different now. I am just not where I was back then. I have explained that many times. But never mind that. In whatever case, don’t worry because nothing like that happened. The movie was great. It was sublime. I’m going to watch it again. I think I better.”

“Well that’s good. I’m glad you liked it. And I’m sorry it took me so long to get it to you. But you’re very important to me and I just don’t want to take any chances. When it comes to the possibility of you getting hurt, I want to no chance with that at all.”
