In light of today’s Moon in Cancer, I thought I would write some more about Scott and his piss off Mommy games. He really is exquisitely talented at this. He is true jerk which leaves me having to acknowledge, I don’t mind.
And when I thought of this, I recalled a time some years ago when my editor, HQ was picking on me. He has Pluto and Mercury conjunct and he can really get at you if he wants. He’s actually a tremendously nice person but every once in awhile he does get his knife out to play and he was having that kind of day. So he was needling me and I complained.
Well, it didn’t do me much good. He’d been reading everything I wrote for years so he has a pretty good fix on me. “You like it when people mess with you,” he said.
“I do not!”
I was all indignant. That’s exactly how I get. It’s an embarrassing feature of my personality. To deny (Neptune) reality (Saturn).
“Yes you do. You love it when people mess with you and if you can’t get someone to do it, then you mess with yourself!”
Well that one shut me up. Could he be right? In my case, he’s right. 
But what about you?

Yes, it makes me feel alive. If I have a good mood it’s entertaining, if I’m low I learn something. Mercury in 3rd house virgo, conjunct saturn, square neptune, sextile venus

I have so much Aries that sometimes I enjoy the fight more than is healthy. *sigh*
My bf recently pointed out to me that, in some ways, I do enjoy fighting with my ex, even though (or maybe because?) he hurts my feelings and makes me mad.
But the mocking, non-battling kind of chain-jerking? No, that just irritates me. If I’m gonna be messed with, it had better be in a way that will allow me to fight.
Mercury in cancer in the tenth house. i like banter. i am the butt of many jokes. i dont mind most of the time.

I’d like it if someone told me something like HQ told Elsa, because i’d learn about myself, but it wouldn’t be fun. I have a serious mind mostly.

I like banter but I don’t like someone jerking my chain or being provocative just because.
There is a right way and a wrong way to jerk my chain or rattle my cage. My most precious friends know (and use) the right way. I cherish them all the more for it.
Mercury in Gem on the ascendant with the unfortunate (perhaps?) tendency to attract disabled retro Merc people…the Merc is disabled, not the person.
I don’t like jerked chains because I see it as an avoidance of whatever deeper subject I wanted to explore, usually ~~~ it’s kinda sexist and kinda smells of frustrated sex drive, just my impression.
I do like going on weirdo tangents though…

HQ’s comment about you messing with yourself reminds me of my best friend (Merc in Aquarius, 6th house, retro).
I’m unable to vote (I get an “Internal Server Error”), but I have an Aries Mercury in the 6th house and I tend to take things very literally. I don’t like having my chain jerked, and that’s why people like to jerk it. Funny how that works.
I find it endlessly entertaining when people get me like that. It’s fascinating to figure out what makes me react. And I love a good battle so long as everyone is playing fair. Must be why I’ve been so fond of so many Aries men.
I’m with Strawberry Fields — I appreciate it when my friends & family call me on my stuff, but as a Scorpio, those who genuinely jerk my chain do so at their own risk.

I don’t mind my chain being jerked, just make sure you’re not a family member. Or you’re leading me to the trough (Mercury’s a very busy Rx planet in Taurus / 4th house).
I don’t mind people jerking my chain if it’s all in good fun. Like when I’m around my family, we always jerk each other’s chains. If it’s to be mean to me, then no, you better watch out cause I’m going to kick your ass. My Mercury is in Virgo in the 7th house square Neptune.

I hate it when people jerk my chain, but I will fess up and say I love jerking theirs.

No. Mercury in Aries, 10th house. Fucking with me brings out the nasty in me. Dad was a pro at this until he finally learned to STFU. With me at least. I can take a joke and friendly teasing but I have limits and everyone knows when they’ve been crossed.

well, to explain….i used to be very sensitive upto like even an year ago….until a friend recently introduced me to this chain-jerking thing. and to my surprise, i loooove it !! thr was an initial period whn i wud get all pissed off….but now it seems to have actually made me face my insecurities (he always went straight for my Achilles’ heel :D) and now i am the better for it. And for the record, like Scott, he takes it quite well whn the heat is on him. AND, he is sooo funny, i find he gets away with almost anything with me. 
So there we go…he provokes me and i fire back…its fun!
Hahahahahaha….HA! You know that old saying, “you can’t shit a shitter?” Yeah, go ahead…. jerk my chain…..my Sagittarius Mercury(square Uranus and Pluto) will “hang” you with yours!lol

UNless that is I know you’re someone who I can trust and love, and the teasing you are doing is fairly gentle and non-malicious. Otherwise I get my feelings hurt, or my sensibilities offended and whent hat happens I’m not pretty.
I suppose it’s because I consider myself a pretty reasonable person so there’s no reason for chain jerking to occur (it will achieve nothing that can’t be achieved in courteous discussion) except to piss me off and make me vengeful. Hello, Scorpio Moon!
I have Mercury square Saturn and Pluto so I tend to take things waaaaay to seriously to like having my chain pulled. On the other hand my Venus in Gemini likes to pull other people’s chains once in a while, so I have learned not to overreact. Comparing my younger and older self I relate to Bob Dylan in the song My Back Pages where he sings, “Ah, but I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now”.
