Regarding The Six Planets Lined Up in Scorpio Today and Skepticism - “Believing” in Astrology

People who don’t like astrology but do like me, always wind up asking me the same thing. How can a person as smart as you believe that planets have any impact on our lives? And I am always utterly baffled by this.
And I ask them where they think the line is. Just exactly where is the line between a person… you or me, and another person, or for that matter a planet in the sky?
See, I don’t understand. Because most people would agree that you can have a feeling… you can be in love with someone who is half way around the world. And those feelings travel. That person feels right there in the room with you. There is no separation at all. You are in England and they are in Africa, yet they are affecting you. Hmmm…
So the line that separates you from another entity is obviously pretty far out there. You can love across town, across the state and across the continent so why in the world would you someone think they are not connected to the planets in the sky? Is it because there is a line 10 feet above the earth that prevents connection? Or 20 feet out, or a 100? How could that be?
And I mention this today because of the extreme situation in the sky. Six planets are clustered in Scorpio today. Think about that. Up above, all the planets are stacked up against one another. Don’t you think that matters?
See, I can never figure out how people can diss astrology, but on a day like today it’s especially unfathomable to me that anyone could think what is going in with the planets in the sky is insignificant. I just can’t see how in the world could this be? How could all this energy be concentrated out there and… nothing!
To me it’s like saying the Sun doesn’t warm your skin when it shines. It’s like saying the Sun does not effect you because it’s way up there in the sky. And I’m sorry, but to me this is completely laughable. And I just wanted to say so on a day like today when things are so intense and concentrated, like the Sun burning your skin on a 120 degree day, they beg not to be denied.

They’ve probably never thought of it the way you do. I know I never did, and I believe in astrology.
There was a stellium in Capricorn in May 2000, I believe. Not sure what the planets were. I am sure you can google it. I don’t know about you, but I completely lost my balast then. LOST IT!!!
Now? I feel extremely good. My 10th house MC Uranus is in Scorpio. Things are looking up. My moon? 1st house capricorn.
thanks for this easy to understand perspective. while i find astrology a bit hard to comprehend, i have never discounted that it can indeed be a map of our existence. i believe we are all connected even though my tiny mind has trouble truely understanding how.
for someone like me that comes from a highly religious family…I explain it even the wise men in the bible followed the signs in the heavens to find the baby jesus.
Or the moon and planets affect the waters in the ocean with the different tide levels high, low and minus tides…they affect us as humans as well.
Wow, all this high-minded thought. I feel so shallow. I’m thinkin’ YIPPEE! this stellium is hittin’ my 3rd house and trining my PiscesVenus, sextiling Uranus & Pluto with that lovely transiting Venus squaring my LeoMars soon. I’m thinkin’ steamy nights ahead!!! I’m plotting already…with Halloween around the corner I can’t seem to get costumes outta my head!
Love the pendant and totally agree that the energies of life ripple through everything.

i’m still confused trying to figure out where this hits my chart. i mean, i know what natal planets/houses have scorp influence, but i’m not sure about if i’m supposed to be looking elsewhere, like at certain degrees or something, to get a definitive idea of what to expect with this…
Hmm… It just dawns on me… in a few days I’ll be traveling to my home town for my father’s 70th birthday. Ours is a problematic relationship. Should be interesting. Need to have a closer look at how both our charts are currently aspected by all this…
I’ve heard it explained that people are highly attuned to magnetic fields and that every celestial body has some sort of effect on those fields. A big issue, IMO, is that science doesn’t even realize how much it doesn’t know yet.
Ah, I don’t get it. What is Scorpio going to do today?
Funny, I’ve always been very Scorpio-averse (there was a huge Libra stellium the day I was born, 32 years ago yesterday, if that has anything to do with it) but I’ve been feeling better than I have in ages today.
People who live in cities have lost their connection to nature, and it’s cycles, i think that’s why it isn’t obvious for alot of people how the planets are connected to everything.
The moon has a very obvious influence too, in tides, harvests, fertiliy in women follows the 28 days cycle of the moon.. and other things. that’s common knowledge. and once we start learning astrology and see it working it becomes pretty clear that it works.
Dude, you are right that the Sun exerts a strong influence on Earth both in terms of energy output and gravity. The Moon also exerts a strong gravitational effect.
However, even the total gravitational influence of all the other planets stacked up together is less than the gravitational influence of your friend sitting next to you. That is because of the inverse square law.
Also if you want to argue by analogy that planets can influence us, just like people can love across continents, you should show us how people and planets are similar enough to make this comparison. Can planets love? How do you find out?
Scientist will never say that what is going on in the sky is insignificant. They will say that planetary positions exerts very tiny effects on your daily life. Much, much, much less effect than your interactions with your immediate environment and other people.

Not all of us who live in the city lose our connection to nature.
More to the point, nature never loses its connection with some of us.
Those who are fortunate/unfortunate to be in tune with the metaphysical in all its forms will always feel the energies flowing — whether they are positively or negatively guided.
Since we are talking about this transit… I have some news.
(scorpio in my chart on saturn in the 8th and MC/mars in the 9th)
Yesterday I got my loan consolidation form (ahem, saturn 8th house?) today I sent it in. Today my resume was sent to the US embassy and tomorrow I have to give my writing sample.. (9th- mc?)
Oh, and it’s in the commerce department. (other people’s money, laws…perhaps a positive manifestation of saturn in the 8th?)
I just wanted to share this. I was so worried someone was going to die and leave me money today… this is much better.
What do you think? Am I going to get a job?

Sure. We’re nature too. I just mean fishermen and farmers are in touch, in a daily basis, with nature’s rythms, so they can get the better use of it, there’s nothing metaphysical about that. But it wouldn’t surprise me if being surrounded by nature made people more aware of metaphysical truths. I don’t know if it does. I guess those things take several lifetimes to develop.
They say ( Taoism, and etc.) we’re microcosms, repetitions of the same bigger pattern wich is the universe. Like the russion matrioska dolls. So, like the earth is 70% water, so is the human body and so is the single cell. The systems reflect each other. That’s how astrology is supposed to work, “as above so below”. It’s all about analogies, not logic.
We don’t need to go looking for the Truth anywhere outside ourselves, we just need to see God in ourselves.
Can anyone tell the scorpio cluster is energizing my 9th house?

Good for you for getting your ground work done before Mercury turns retrograde! I think you will get the job. When? Dunno!
The idea that astrologers have to “prove” astrology works is laughable to be.
I live in the city and I work outside. It is a great combo. Especially when people say: OOooh it’s raining! Must be crappy! And really is not. Nature is everywhere, paved over or not.
