Calling All Pisces!!! Are You As Horrified As I Am With These Disgusting Fish?

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

pisces badI just wonder what ya’ll think when you see you see jacked up fish representing your sign.

pisces fishWhen they’re lopsided or look diseased?

When they appear to be drunken?

Or one over large, while the other one shrunken?

pisces bad 4And what fish who have lost their way? Or fallen prey?

pisces badDo you notice this?

bad piscesDoes it make you queasy?

Or do you just transcend?

And why don’t they do this to other signs? You don’t see Sagittarius graphics with upside-down horses. You don’t see Aries, rams with no horns or a scorpion with no stinger. I have never seen an Aquarian water bearer with a pot full of sludge, so what the hell?

Personally, graphics like these disturb me to no end. I feel like something is wrong with the world when I look at these fish and I’m just wondering if anyone else notices this stuff.

So do you?

I’ve never liked the pisces symbol as fish to begin with. Those are the grossest ones I’ve seen though!! (Pisces Asc)Is that fish eating the other fish?? Jeez!

Well, Pisces are often drunken or diseased or lost

rofl!!!! (Laughs at Jeff Kishner’s comment)

Yes, I do notice that. I actually like the fish motif–but it has to be done right.

p.s. I have lots of disgusting fish dreams, too. I have a recurring dream where I’m underwater and there are fish swimming all around me–there are boilers in the room (glowing red hot) and the fish gravitate toward them and get incinerated (shudders)

I will have to ask my pisces friends.

Yugh! Why do mediocre artists feel the need to inflict themselves on poor Pisceans? The gold pendant really takes the cake, though, for weird fish portrayal and just bad taste in general.

Mediocre artists inflict themselves upon us because we are the victims and martyrs of the zodiac. And yet we are so transcendant that we don’t even need a glyph.

Though I’m a Pisces, I’ve never agreed with the Pisces stereotypes I always read. You helped me realize how much Capricorn I have…but yes, I do find most of those disturbing. I think Pisces are stronger than most give them credit for. ;-)

When I think of Pisces, I think of an analogy I read once that I love. A Pisces can be like water itself … it always finds a way around a barrier. Even if it can’t find a way around, it will find this tiny fissure and enlarge it over eons. Who would not like to be able to swim whichever way? (This does NOT help with deciding on a career, ack!)

These glyphs remind me that, as fish, we’re at the bottom of the food chain. wich is freaky.
I also beleive being Water, they go where they need to go like Belle said. Which makes us wiser and old.
Pisces people are used to being out of their element on this earth, so the ugly glyphs are to be expected :)

I read (forgot where) that the ancient glyph had both fish swimming in the same direction. interesting.

I am glad I am not Pisces - I am not fond of fish at all - and there must be far nicer ones than those examples.

I have a friend (a Pisces) who is repulsed by the sight of fish. Funny. Hehee. Maybe it goes with that Piscean self-undoing, self-sacrificing thing. I actually am simultaneously drawn to fish and repulsed by them. I tend to kill them (accidentally) if they’re pets. hehe.

Hm. Never thought about it before. I guess I’m just used to it.

I’m also accustomed to comments like Jeffrey’s. When I was younger it would piss me off. Sadly, I’ve come to realize it is often true - just not true about me - so I laugh it off now.

Fishy Ram’s comment about the Pisces friend being replused by the sight of fish cracked me up. They aren’t replusive to me, on the contrary, I find them to be very beautiful. However, I won’t eat fish because it smacks too much of cannibalism to me :)

No, that’s not true. I just don’t like the taste or smell of fish.

Jeffrey’s comment is… wrong. I am a Pisces, and I am neither lost, nor drunk, much less deceased. The only Pisces stereotypes I fit into is the having keen intuition, being mystical, a dreamer, and sometimes overly nice. But the other stereotypes, like the self-sacrificing, no. I’m very selfish, actually. I would never fit into any job that Pisces supposedly fit into.

I hate the Pisces symbol. Fish are repulsive, in my opinion. They’re stupid and emotionless.

After thinking about it, I have to agree with Jeffrey’s comments. Don’t know so much about ‘diseased’ but that can mean so many things. But lost, definitely.

Jeffrey, you must be a pisces! I have three piscean co-workers: one is a lush, the other just got fired embezzling money to feed his coke habit, and the other is a compete tee-totaller who won’t even eat a side of fries. I love them all the same, even the embezzler. I cried my eyes out when he got fired.

Elsa, that’s one of the things I appreciate most about you–your artistic sense. You haven’t become desensitized by the schlock and kitsch of the world! I do love your taste and humor in illustrating your blog, and for your righteous indignation at aesthetic horrors. Where the heck do you find all your astro paraphernalia?
