You Know Saturn Is In Leo When…

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

star wars hand leiaYou know Saturn is in Leo when…

George Lucas is quoted saying, “The blockbuster is dead”.

From IMDb.com:

“…But he now believes big-budget films can no longer be profitable and are going out of fashion, as evidenced by this year’s Academy Award nominees, including independent movies Crash and Good Night, And Good Luck. Lucas tells the New York Daily News, “The market forces that exist today make it unrealistic to spend $200 million on a movie. Those movies can’t make their money back anymore…”

Little Saturn belt-tightening, you think? A little reality check for the (Leo) actors?

What is Lucas talking about? Films still make a fortune these days. Maybe not in the North American box office, but overseas and DVD sales. Of course spending over $200 million on a single film is crazy in the first place, but that’s Hollyowood for ya.

You know Saturn is in Leo (rising sign, here) when you are demoted in your job, the house you rent is sold out from under you, and a good surgeon has to remove some of your vocal cords to excise a tumor, all in the same year!

    Hi Sarah,
Hopefully Elsa will open this question up under a heading or FAQ where more people will see it. I am going to guess you are mainly interested in the astrology of people and personality. For a reader who likes Elsa’s writing style I’d expressly point you towards:

    Secrets From a Stargazer’s Notebook
    -Debbi Kemption Smith

Other great books for beginners are:

Astrology for the Light Side of the Brain
Astrology for the Light Side of the Future
    -Kim Rogers-Gallagher (quite funny)

    The Inner Sky
    The Changing Sky
    Skymates
-Steven Forrest (one of the world’s best pros)

A comment on Lucas’ quote. This is really pertinent to the darker view of things Saturn cna bring. Big budget movies are making more money than ever, but Lucas’ must successful film was “Empire Strikes Back(1982).” Big budget movies are not working for *him* anymore, but for Oscar winning directors like Peter Jackson, the checkbook is wide open.

Lucas has 2 planets in Leo. His Jupiter(enthusiasm) is being opposed by Neptune(dissolving), and Saturn(restriction) on his Pluto(big business). Leo is the entertainment industry generally, but is also somewhat self centered. His opinion is related more to his personal experience and the mediocre end to the Star Wars movies, than the conditions of big budget movies in general.

Neptune, planet of film, will bring even more fantastic big, magical movies like Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter series when it goes into Pisces. These films were fabulously expensive and profitable.
